Well... that's the last time I write a fic at 6 in the morning. Sorry! At
least its a VERY rough draft. I promise I will be more alert next time I
write in this universe.

This is one of the most over-used stock scenes in fanfiction -- which is
odd, as Takahashi-sama herself never used a scene like this that I can
think of; Akane's cooking was the subject of only a few storylines. I'd
really advise you to replace this bit with something a bit more
creative.

Again, sorry. I needed some fill space and it was the only scene that came
to mind, it will be brushed up whenever I get around to rewriting this
prologue.

Um... if I recall correctly, cousins *can* legally marry in Japan. At
least that's what they said in the Viz translation of Maison Ikkoku (the
story where Yusaku was in the hospital).

Ok, I wasn't aware of that, but even then if memory serves me, genetics
says that children of any two persons related closer than 2nd cousins have
a much higher percent chance of bearing children with deformations. In fact
I think it's more probable than not. I would not think any member of the
cast would be willing to take their chances given the situation. The reason
I point this out, is because I remember hearing someplace that in Japan,
deformities are considered highly dishonorable.

I haven't seen that anime, but Rumiko Takahashi had nothing to do with
it. It was an original anime episode, not adapted from the manga as many
others were. So it may be that someone working on the anime liked the
idea of Ryoga/Akane.

I'm an anime person, and it probably shows. I never really got inspired by
the episode, it just helped spawned the wacky idea of what to do with the
two of them once I split them up. Of course, my cousin and I always saw
Rumiko as a trickster and one who would tease people into thinking of other
pairings just because like we're doing in my big series of fanfics.
Personally, I think Ryoga would get together with Akari (never knew she
existed until I researched Ranma on the net) sooner than Akane mainly
because of Ranma, the fact Akari loves him and P-Chan, and that he does
develop some feelings for her along the way. I do not intend to have either
Akari or Konatsu in this fanfic (this is an altiverse so they never show
up) mainly because I believe that if I cannot portray a character at least
somewhat along the original, I will not portray him/her at all. I have not
read nor seen any scenes with either of these characters, so that's why I'm
not adding them. Nodoka is a very iffy character for me.

That's my rant for now.
