I know you have no idea what the heck happened prior, but what do you
guys think of this bit of storyline?

Magic flinched as the console next to her exploded.  She gulped as her
Empress withdrew her fist and turned her blazing eyes to her.

Yarianna: Again...  What did you say?

Magic: o-our communication systems have been destroyed.  Our forces
are in chaos.  The _Sharon Apple_ is providing cover fo the Valley of
Shadows to escape.  We-GAK!

Magic gasped as the hand squeezed about her thorat and lifted her
bodily from the ground.  She held onto the hand as she tried to keep
her eyes from bulging out past her visor.  Yarianna brought her up to
her face and breathed upon her.

Yarianna: Fix it...  Understand?

Magic nodded and screamed as she was sent sailing through the air to
skid upon her back across the floor.  She quickly rolled to her feet
and started to bark out orders to the nervous techs, several already
laid de.ad before Yarianna's throne from her rage at losing the power
of the Dragon.  Wind cautiously approached.

Wind: Lightning and Thunder have been returned to us...
(Yarianna's eyes flicked his way) They were captured by a Chinese
Amazon named Cologne.  They were soundly trashed.  Water has been
captured.  Earth is wounded badly.  And Ice is-

Yarianna: -De.ad.  Or she will be if I see her again!  How many are
left?

Wind(hold shis arms out): This is all we have left in the Dark Paladin
category.  The others are unable to fight or gone.

Yarianna: We've lost.  The first defeat ever handed to me in my 3000
years of conquest... (grins darkly) I'll have to savor this... intense
emotion...  Prepare to withdraw for now... (frowns as she feels
Sinae's spell break) I leave you in charge.  I may be beaten, but I
will have my consolation prize... (teleports.)

Wind(sighs in relief): I should have stayed with Janie...  Yar's wrath
is better than the Empress's displeasure... (joins Magic in her
frantic attempts to restore communications.)

Tech: Escape plotted.  Dimensional shift in T-minus 30 minutes...

Miko walked up to Sinae and put her hands on her friend's shoulders. 
Sinae looked up past her tears and gripped Miko's hands with her own.

Sinae: I'm so sorry, Miko....  I-i should've known you didn't betray
me...

Miko: Shhh.... (gives her shoulders a reassuring squeeze) You beat the
hell out of Firehawke and he still loves you...  All you did to me was
bloody my nose.  You think I'm going to let that stop me? (kneels down
and hugs her) But, Sinae... I'm getting really tired of you attacking
me everytime you get stressed.  Do I have to worry about that time of
the month, too?

Sinae(gives a curt laugh and leans her head against Miko's): baka....
EARGH! (Sinae arches back and doubles over in pain as dark energy
floods her body)

Miko and Firehawke: SINAE!

"Bwahahahahahahahahaaaa..."

Firehawke: i know that laugh....

Miko(turning slowly): so do i...

Yarianna: Aw, did my daughter find her precious lover?  or maybe both
of them...

Sinae(gritting her teeth as the waves of energy flashes throug her
body): damn you....

Yarianna: You shouldn't talk that way to your Mommy, Little Sinae... 
You'll make Mommy angry.

Miko: Let her go! (Yarianna igonres her)

Sinae: I'm no daughter of your's...  You are hat.eful!

Yarianna: And after all I've doen for you...  Gave you life.. (snaps
her wrist ans Sinae screeches with pain) Brought you into this world!
(snaps again, screams echo off the wall) You little, ungrateful b*tch!
(twist her hands and Sinae doubles over in more pain)

Miko: Stop it!  You're ki.lling her!

Yarianna(leans forward, her eyes cold and her grin cruel): No, Mano...
 I'm not ki.lling her... (makes the gestures of someone ripping
outsomething)

Sinae shudders as a ball of black energy is torn from her bosom and
she falls to teh ground, coughing up blood and wheezing.

Yarianna(smirk): Now, I'm ki.lling her.

Miko(catching Sinae in her arms): Sinae!  No... 
(Sinae's blood flows up from her mouth violently and spills down her
chin.  bubbles show to Miko that she's drowning in her own blood)

Yarianna starts to chuckle in her throat... it becomes a chortle. 
Then, it becomes a maniac's laugh.  She pulls out a glowing        
sphere.

Yarianna: Dont' worry.  I'll put all your souls together so you can be
together, forever... or until I feed on you. *laughs as Miko brings
out her soulsword*

Miko screams in rage as she charges Yarianna.  Yarianna stops laughing
and smirks at her, unmoving.  Miko realise she stepping into a trap. 

Her sword passes harmlessly through the image and Yarianna's hands
clamp donw on her shoulders from behind.  Without a word, Yarianna
swings the       Hunter into the stone pillar and through it.  Still
holding onto Miko, she swings her about and throws her into the far
wall.  Miko curses under her breath as she pushes herself up to her
feet as Yarianna walks forward.

Yarianna: I'm afraid you are 3000 years too young to face the Grand
Mas.ter of the Schools... STORMBRINGER!

Miko brings up her sword to block the magic blade summoned by
Yarianna.  She screams in pain as lightning licks along the length
ofher blade.

Yarianna: My blade is crafted to feed on other magic weapons... and
that's a Soulsword isn't it?  Bon appetite, my darling Stormbringer...
Tear her soul apart....

Miko cries out as Strombringer rumbles as it crashes with its thunder...

Sinae coughs and feels her lifeforce dimming.  Her ailment struck her
full force.  Her cursed existence taunted her.  She was going to die
here and her friends were going to die with her....  She felt a cold,
smooth surface beneath her hands.  She looked up past her matted hair
to Firehawke, he held a glass sword to her.

FH: cast it...  like you did...  back then...  make us whole....

Sinae(pulling the sword towards herself, the words came easily to her
mind): Retrod, d'nalirag belorthyril....

Miko's kicked Yarianna off of her and Yarianna withdrew her glowing
hand, a bit disappointed that the       Hunter's soul didn't come
freely at her touch.

The swords clashed once more and a quick jerk sent one blade skywards
to stab into the ground.  Miko pulled her hand away from the empty air
and glared at the Empress.

Yarianna: Thank you, Mano, for a lovely time.  Join your ancestors.
(brings her glowing hand up to point at Miko's chest)

Miko: Do it, Sinae! *Magic words fill the air as Yarianna snaps her
head back and stares*

Sinae, holding both FH's glass sword and Miko's SoulSword in her
hands, she twirls them about and drives them both into her bosom.  Her
words become stronger.  The blades do not reappear through her back. 
A flash of light and Sinae stands firmly and glares at Yarianna.

Sinae: Dark Thunder... (a crash of thunder and the black twisting
blade form in her hands)

Yarianna(half closed eyes): Cute.

Miko's Soulsword reappears in her hands.  Yarianna doesn't look at her
as her arm comes up and backhands her into the wall.

Sinae(narrows her eyes): Don't do that...

Yarianna: What are you going to do with that toy, Sinae?  You'd better
watch out, or I'll have to teach you some manners....

Sinae(her dragon pupils narrow): Teach me.

Yarianna seems to slide across the ground as she charges her.  Sinae
skips at the first step and charges her as well.

Sinae: FOR GOOD OR EVIL, MAY WE WAR!

The two swords crashed together with th sound of a raging storm. 
Lightning flared, thunder rolled.  They passed each other and Yarianna
held her sword to her side.  A rip appeared in her cloak and it tore
away from her body, revealing her black silken dress clinging to her
form.  Sinae gritted her teeth as she struggled to hold onto Dark
Thunder.  She shuddered and it fell from her grip.  She sank to her
knees as she spat up more blood.  Yarianna casually glances at her
sword and flicks it.  A stream of blood goes from her to the wall. 
She turns around and puts a hand to her hip.

Yarianna: Did you seriously think you'd win?  No, my dear gi.rl...  I
have far more experience in this then you do... (her glowing hand
comes up) Now... Since you've kindly taken in both of their souls,
I'll just have to do this once...  Your soul is mine.

Green energy lances out and wraps about Sinae's waist and up about
herchest...

Sinae: no... (clawing at the ground as she's pulled towards Yarianna...)

"LIGHTNING STRIKE!"

A bolt of electricity slams into Yarianna and she glances over at the
tall dark figure in the black cloak.  A single green eye peers from
the depth of the hood.Yarianna(breathes the name as she smiles): Yar....

Yar(his voice shaking the very earth): Get your damn hands off my
daughter, you stupid bi.tch....

<Virgo: While we're screwing around with Yarianna... who's watching
