Hello, all.
Just a quick note to the FFML and to all my pre-readers that I'm going to
the annual StarCon in Denver next weekend, from the 28th to the 30th of
August. It's taking place at the Holiday Inn Convention Center at I-70 &
Chambers Road, near Denver International Airport.
One of the nice things is that they're going to have an anime screening
room again this year, and StarCon is one of the very few cons close enough
for me to reach. (I can't travel very far, my disabilities limit me, damn it.)
If anyone from the list happens to be in Denver on those days, I'll be
leaving my name and room number with the main desk along with instructions
to have me paged or messaged if anyone from the FFML wants to get in touch.
As for what I look like? Well, my photo is on my web page at
http://www.henge.com/~eabecerr/ and I'll be wearing a blue convention vest
covered with buttons and ribbons from all the places I've been across the
world and a camouflage rucksack to carry my gear around in. (yeah,
camouflage.
It's been over a decade, and you might have taken the boy out of the Army,
but you can't take the army out of the boy. Go figure.)
There's also a web page for the con, along with a listing of all the anime
that the anime room will be showing over the weekend, and I'd appreciate
opinions on what's worth watching, and what's worth missing. (After all,
there's a LOT to do at the con, and I can't do it _all_.. hard choices must
be made! ^_^)
The StarCon web page is at http://starland.com/sf-sc/
That page will take you directly to the con schedule, and lower down on the
page is a link to the anime room's listing of all the things they're going
to show. Including something I've never heard of, a fan production called
"X-23 part 2 - Electric Boogaloo (Fan produced - Live-Action vs. Anime)",
whatever the hell that is. ^_^
Any and all advice and/or opinions will be heartily welcomed.
I hope to meet anyone I can from the FFML, so if you're there, please try
to get in touch. Again, that's from the 28th to the 30th of August.
