I would really appreciate suggestions for this.  It's only a
half-thought out idea at best.

and stretches all over the place.> This is a distress call from the
mining ship Red Dwarf.  A radiation leak has killed everyone on board
except for Ranma Saotome, who was in stasis during the leak, and his
pet pig, who was safely protected in the ship's hold.
  Revived, three-million years later, Ranma's only companions are,
Ryouga, a creature evolved from Ranma's pet, and Tatewaki Kuno, a
hologram of one of the dead crew.
  Since three million years have passed, mankind may possibly be
extinct, it is my sincerest hope that they went kicking and screaming
the whole way.  It's fun to watch them squirm.
