Minna,
Myself and some friends had gone one step beyond making audio
recordings of fanfics. With the help of my friend Scott and several
anime fans in the Tulsa, OK area we invented (or at least _think_ we
invented) a new genre of fan-produced works. We called it "Fanime," and
what it consisted of was us (or really Scott) animating our favorite
fanfics as well as recording the voices (that's where the Tulsa otaku
came in). We called our little group "Hair Care Fanime Productions"
(all of us are big fans of Shampoo and Mousse), and as such managed to
do three different fics as animated projects (copies are no longer
available, I no longer have access to the originals and I have no more
copies lying around. Gomen).
Unfortunately Scott has now been hired by a large animation company
(sorry, he said not to tell anyone who it was) and took all of his
talent and animation/recording equipment with him when he moved. We are
currently looking for someone with the talent and equipment to replace
him, but anyone interested keep in mind that there is no profit made.
All people who wished to obtain copies had only to send a blank tape and
return postage or the money for a tape, we only made them because we had
fun doing it and we wanted people to enjoy fanfiction in another (if not
better) way. If there is anyone out there interested in replacing Scott
let me know via private e-mail at TendouNabiki@webtv.net (my fiancee's
e-mail address is the official e-mail for HCFP as well). Please send a
copy of your artwork (stills please, WebTV can't handle animation very
well) or an URL where it can be found and I'll contact you. I don't
expect a flood of mail from interested parties, but one or two would be
nice so please don't be shy.
Well, got to go for now. Until next time, ja ne.

Sincerely,
Akihiro

Emphasis on that bit on "far better to see Shakespeare performed than to

it would be if we writers could create a sort of radio-drama or audio-book
recordings of some of the classics; but all I have is a 486/33 with Win3.1
Looks like all I can do for now is bring up the idea, and see what people
think. I'd love it if some of us could do an ensemble performance (via the
magic of .MP3) of some of the DnR or other classic series...

Actually, Ucchan.. that's already _being_ done. A group out on the net is
taking Todd's classic 'Careful Destiny' and turning it into a web-based
RealAudio radio play. In fact, Todd, for what seem to be dreadfully obscure
reasons, is urging me to audition for the part of Genma Satome.

Which I am, for my own warped reasons. Heh.

Terrifying thought.. _me_, as a fanfic Voice Actor. Scary, no? I can hear
the lynch mobs headed out from the FFML even as I type this... ^_^

Anyway, if anyone's interested in the URL, write my _privately_, and I'll
give you the page. The group plans on converting OTHER excellent fanfics
into RealAudio radio plays, with Careful Destiny as their first.

Hmm.. who knows? Undocumented Features, the radio play? Bubblegum Zone,
the audio version? Hopelessly Lost? Furinkan Summer? Ranma's Apartment?

	<evil laugh>

Gawd... the evil possibilities are unlimited.. hey, Megazone? I could VA
one of Largo's expendable villians. ^_- Gryphon might like that, after how
he got a little irked with me over my first (and very bad and unfairly
stealing from UF) story. One gruesome death scene, coming up!

Itsu mo,
Ucchan ^_^

(who brought Konatsu to tears by reading "Bitter End" aloud until 3 am
the other night... that was the clincher, BTW)

Been there, done that. BE made me wince a lot too. Zen and I have a
contest running.. who's had the shittiest things happen to them. So far,
I'm ahead in number of dead and general weirdness of what's happened, Zen's
ahead in personal aggravation.

Weird.. life dumps on someone, and they make art. <headshake> If it
weren't so sad, it would be funny.

That's just my $0.02 worth of philosophy, from this old hack. Remember to
take it with a few grains of salt.
