Downloading things to my computer, editing them, uploading them, getting
rid of all the ^M characters, etc, is rather tedious.
FYI there is a DOS and win32 command prompt version of VI. (Still
waiting to get around to compile pico for win32). Also if you have win
3.1 or win32 there is a great program for text editing called PFE. It
handles the dos/unix text file conversion with no problem and gives you
your potions at save time. I use it here all the time for editing files
on Sun systems via NFS.
Also see if dos2unix is installed on your Unix system. It cleans up all
the ^M's for you automatically. Also you can use unix2dos to go the other
way
