Well, Shampoo doesn't need to marry Ranma to have
his kid, does she?
Maybe, maybe not. However, Ranma's been defeated before, and Shampoo
hasn't betrayed him, so you've still got to contend with the love intrest
even if you've dealt with the law.
2) Based on the conflict of two equally (IMO) legit
and illegit engagements, well, you marry, divorce,
and marry. This will obviously leave one of the
two extremely unhappy. If this was a lemon, then
there would be the caveat that the marriage must
be consumated. (Actually, even if it weren't a
lemon, some cultures would view a marriage
incomplete until the consumation, but to each his
own and so on and so forth...)
Someone based an e-mail with this idea, garnered from Piers Anthony's Isle
Of View(And to think that Gary hasn't read Xanth!). To assuage everyone's
honor, he'd marry, divorce, marry, divorce, etc. As I said back then,
this might be fufilling the letter of the obligations, and wouldn't really
do much for the honor of "leftover three".

The sardines weren't worth the trouble. A few more shots, then
Ryoga-san would overheat and explode. Ducking around a corner,
I managed to lose him as I entered the ramshackle residence of
my Anime supplier.
One look at his face and I knew that I was betrayed. "Tell me."
I insisted. He refused, so I slammed him against the wall.
"Last chance. Where can Ranma-Ranma find good fanfics?"
"Try Jason Liao." he whispered, before he slumped to the floor.
I heard the sounds of a door splintering as I left through the
window, one step ahead of Tendo Heavy Industries...
