I thought this up as a whim. It is the blueprint

Same here...
What? How many of you out there want to make EVERYBODY unhappy? ;)
1) The Tendos adopt Shampoo.
Of course, Shampoo could conveniently 'not recognize Japanese laws and
customs' as the others (ie, Ranma) have done toward her Amazon law, and
ignore this entirely.
I doubt she would, since she gets Ranma out of the deal. However,
adoption would likely mean that she is no longer an Amazon, as
"adoption" could easily be seen as "transfer from one tribe (Amazon) to
another (Tendo)".
2) Nabiki and Yuka (She's a computer hacker at heart, I can tell) hack
into a government computer and create Ranma Saotome, a sixteen(or
older,
depending) year-old girl.
I'm not sure that would help much in the long-run.
Right. OTOH, creating *Ranko* Saotome, as a completely separate
identitly, would ease things.
3) Ranma, as a guy, marries Shampoo Tendo.
If Shampoo got adopted, she can't marry Ranma, can she?
Maybe not if she got adopted by Genma (in which case she would be
Ranma's brother). Adoption by Soun would not stop her, unless Ranma
also became a Tendo.
And besides, if Ranma married Shampoo (which is something he wouldn't
do willingly), what about AKANE?
He is honor-bound to marry *a* Tendo. Any of Soun's daughters would do.
Marrying Shampoo Tendo, after she became Soun's daughter would fill
this.
4) Ranma, as a girl, marries Ukyo. Who is legally a guy.
The idea that Ukyo is 'legally a guy' is a fan conception (up there
with Passion Spice and Mrs. Tendo's real name...). Nowhere in the manga
is this even suggested (and no, we won't discuss the fact that she went
to an All-Boys school, please? That's a thread in of itself...).
If she is not, then, while hacking the government records, Nabiki and
Yuka could just change her status.
There now, that wasn't too hard was it? ^_^
Too bad I just can't fit Ko-chan in there. Ah well...
Ranma couldn't give a rat's ass about Kodachi. She'd probably not be
in the equation AT ALL, the way he thinks of her.
Besides, this was about how to fill his commitments. He owes Kodachi
(and his girl side owes Kuno) nothing.
