Frustrations of an Author

It's 3:30 in the morning, and I've got classes at 9
But I still keep on writing
Playing this last scene in my mind.

Just one line more�
Another word to express�
Before I finally go 
To lay down and rest.

I blink my eyes again.
Trying to shake off the dots I see�
All the while praying,
That my idea, don't flee from me�

I look at the screen again before me
Blankly seeing the lines I knew by heart
All the while thinking�
How to improve this�
Should I write from the start?

I scream again my frustration
Feeling the ache I feel at the nape of my neck.
It's 3:31 already 
And I've got classes to attend.

Should I turn it off now?
And begin tomorrow anew�
But I might lose my idea upon my wake�
Or should I strive to make�
This scene, before the night is through�

The idea just won't leave me.
Until I've finished this story I've got to tell.

Even though others may criticize me�
For the labor I've done through the night�
It doesn't matter really.
Knowing that I've written what I thought was right.

Even though I may be wrong.
I'll try to accept their views.
In an open mind and heart.
For opinions they hold true.

The true reward came not from their recognition.
But once in while it is nice to be known.
Nor flame if that may be the case.
It only helps to tell you, that something may be wrong.

But it came through the writing.
Knowing, as an author� 
You've got something to tell.
