However... This is Ranma 1/2. You know, there's _gotta_ be a
pressure
point that locks Shimeru into their base gender. A "cure", so to
speak.

If there is, then why has Dr. Tofu found it or used it for Ranma?

Because Ranma's condition isn't biological. Pressure points don't
affect magic, except in the way Cologne's did. The Shimeru
transformation, on the other hand, is a natural function of their
bodies.

I am looking for a way to make "curing" a Shimeru theoretically
possible, but more complicated than simply surgically removing the
gland
that produced the hormones that activate the change. Anybody have an
idea?
Well, first off to prevent the surgery option have the hormone be
produced by the Pituitery or Penial glands, which aren't exactly
removable, or by the genetals for alternate reasons not to remove them.
Oh well, there's a few tricks, Naturally there's the medication
approach. Medicine would work by either being a chemicle which
resembles
the hormone enough to fool the gland producing it but without causing
the
change itself, or some other sort of drug which inhibited the
production
of the hormone. Of course there would be the problem of dosage which
could gradually need to increase, and if they stoped taking it the
gland
would tend to overproduce the hormone in question. (Either causing
them
to change with dramatically less emotion required, or to just change
and
stay changed for a couple of days.)
And as for magic overriding biology, that'd work too, and the
complications and potential complications of magic should be obvious
enough.

Interesting. I could also claim that a Shimeru's systems go haywire when
the hormone is absent (sort of like menopause, but far more severe).
Ranma will be secretly trying to find a way to "cure" Akane of her
transforming, so I need some cure that can be used as a literary device.
Any other ideas?
