Hello all. I said I wasn't going to Spam again, and yet here I am,
Spamming. But my views on some Spam is this: If in some small way, it
helps fanfic writers create a better fanfic, and doesn't go into a
political discussion or something to that effect, I believe it
justifiable.

Anyway, to get to the point of why i'm taking up your valuable fic
reading time, I think that there are two things fanfic writers should
consider when writing a fic. Well, there are more that two, but I wanted
to talk about these two. What we think is true about a certain anime
series (opinion) and what actually is presented from the series for
writers to work with (fact). Way too many times i've seen fic
writers/readers argue to death what they think a character should be
like, as opposed to how the person who wrote the fic portrays the
character. Things like: "No, no, no, Nabiki would *Never* say HI to
anybody, she's a cold hearted, evil bitch!". Or " You've made Ryoga too
happy. He would *Never* be happy enough to smile at someone on the
street!". Please note that these are only EXAMPLES, and while they maybe
true, who are we to decide this? I mean, it's okay to offer an OPINION
on how a character should be, but who are we to decide that a character
has to be that way? And I don't mean that it's OOC, IC, OPP, ABC, or
XYZ (aren't there enough labels in the world?^_~). I'm talking about
minor differences in a character that sparks a big discussion on
whatever. We should keep an open mind and realize this is for fun!

And so, to finally get to the point, i've decided to voice my
*Opinion* on certain taboos that fanfic writers/readers need to break!
Nothing serious really, just some things that people can consider. I'll
probably write one whenever an idea enters my head( which is practically
never), and ask what you consider about it.

Taboo #1: Ranma is Weak!

Okay, I think we can all agree that Ranma is amazingly fast, as
Ryoga is amazingly strong. But sometimes Ranma is made out to be just a
little too weak. I think Ranma is only just below Ryoga's strength level
and not just above your average, or even strong person. I know that
Ryoga has had the breaking point training and can withstand many of
Ranma's punches, but my thoughts on it are this; the breaking point
training made Ryoga mostly tougher and gave him more endurance. That
while Ranma's punches are incredibly strong, Ryoga's training made so
they don't hurt as much as they should, but hurt just the same. Please
give me your thoughts on this matter either on the list to help others
with ideas, or privately to tell me how much of a dumbass I am ^ , ^.
