STARS



	"Oh look, look at those little stars!" Akane exclaimed as she looked at
the display on the window.

	"And?" Ranma said, leaning closer and reading the label on the package,
"Night Stars...Hmph, what's so special about that?"

	Akane glared at him and answered, "Baka...these glow in the dark, you
stick it on your ceiling and when it's night..." Akane wistfully smiled and
continued, "...it glows and it feels like you're in some different place
far, far away..." 

Akane looked back at Ranma, noticing he was thinking of something and
asked, "What is it?"

Her words seemed to snap him from his thoughts and he blinked a coupled of
times and blushed. "Uh, he, nothing..."

*What's the blush about...? * Akane pushed that thought away and said,
"C'mon, let's go, I'll just buy it some other time."

As Akane walked away, Ranma stared a bit longer at the window, his forehead
creased in thought. "Hmmm..."

(Later that day...)



	Akane sighed as she stared at the thousands of stars dotting the night
sky. She laid back, a smile painting her face as the cold slowly crept
around her. She spread her hands on the roof and stared upward, letting her
thoughts fly. *I wonder what Ranma's doing...* 

	As if her words summoned him, instead of the stars, Akane was now looking
at Ranma's face upside down, "Hey..." 

Akane's heart skipped a beat and she sat up, moving over a bit and motioned
him to sit beside her. For almost a year she'd been denying her feelings,
keeping them hidden behind a mask of anger and stubbornness; now, in this
cold starry night, she longed for his touch...his embrace... 

	Ranma gracefully lowered himself to the roof and extended his legs,
leaning back and using his hands for support. He stole a glance at Akane
and felt giddy all of a sudden, thankful that they were alone for once.
Heat rose on his cheeks as the silence stretched on, the feeling of Akane
just inches from him making his pulse race. The smell of her fragrant
shampoo filled his head, flooding it with thoughts of her beautiful smile.
Slowly, he worked up the courage to reach out for her hand and grasp it
firmly; sure that this wasn't a dream.

	At his single touch, lightning seemed to flash within Akane's body. She
knew she was about to burst with excitement, but she tried hard not to show
it. It felt comfortable, the way he was holding her hand in his. It just
felt...right. 

	Breaking the silence, Ranma spoke. "You see those group of stars over
there?"

	Akane looked at where he was pointing and nodded, saying, "Yeah, what
about them?"

	"It's the constellation called Draco, it's one of my favorites..."

	"Really? Why?"

	Ranma grinned and answered, "Well, it's kinda like me in some
ways...strong, yet graceful..."

	"And humble too, aren't we?" Akane added a soft squeeze to his hand,
taking the bite out of her words.

	"Heh, stars never lie..." 

	Akane looked at Ranma curiously, wondering why he said the words as if it
had a different meaning. She just shrugged it off and looked up once again,
staring at the constellation, "Draco". *Oh Ranma...* She felt that nothing
in the world could be better. Not wanting to ruin the moment, Akane kept
silent and sighed. 

	"Uh, Akane?"

	She turned to him and stared into his blue-gray eyes, "Hmm?"

	Ranma smiled once, and time seemed to stop as he inched closer and gently
kissed her cheek. Then he softly whispered, "I mean it..." With that he
stood up and gave her one last smile before he jumped off the roof and into
his room.

	Akane stared at where he stood just a while ago and her forehead creased
in thought. *What did he mean? * Her hand went up to her cheek and she
blushed furiously, remembering the soft touch of his lips on her cheek. An
ear to ear grin crept up her face and she couldn't help but giggle. 

After a few minutes of being alone, Akane stared at her watch, "Hmm...it's
eleven already...guess I'd better go to sleep then..." she finally stood up
and went down to her room. Not even bothering to turn on the lights, Akane
flopped down onto her bed with her eyes closed shut.

	*Ranma...why can't I stop thinking about you? * Akane grabbed her pillow
and hugged it to her chest. With one final sigh, her eyes opened and her
breath stopped...

 On her ceiling were small glowing stars, forming a huge heart. Yet, that
wasn't the reason her breath had stopped...

 Softly encased in the star heart were the letters...

RS + AT... 

	And with those stars above her, Ranma's words came back like a near
whisper, "Stars never lie...I mean it..." A sweet smile touched Akane's
lips and she stood up, gazing out the window at the thousands of stars
above her. Her palm rested on the glass as she leaned forward, knowing in
her heart that someone was looking up at the same sky...

	Ranma stared up at the heavens filled with hundreds of glowing stars,
excitement and anticipation filling his heart. He idly leaned back on the
roof with a small smile on his face, his heart overflowing with hope that
Akane was looking up at _their_ stars...

	And as night descended, two people gazed up the starlit sky, similar
thoughts of each other floating through their minds...

Author's Notes:


	Well, it's been a while since I last wrote, and I'm really sorry about
that. School's been really busy and I have tons of homework, and to top it
off, I have volleyball practices and tournaments to go to every weekend!
^_^ Anyway, I'm really sorry, but I hope everyone liked this. It's sort of
an idea my sister gave me when we bought those glow-in-the-dark stars and
stuck it on our ceilings. 
	I almost added in this comic relief thing at the end ^_^ i.e. Soun and
Genma in glow-in-the-dark suits ^_^ hehehe, but I decided against it 'coz
it might ruin the effect of the fic ^_^ Hope you guys enjoyed this one ^_^
	I'm still working on WPWP8 and TLBLF2 and BF3, sorry 'bout all the
delays!!!!! ^_^
