This doesn't work for certain versions of summoning (a great deal). In
those versions, the summoned demon/spirit/Barney is actually held in by
wards, so the critter can't escape no matter how strong it is. The only
thing required to free the demon is for someone outside to break the
ward. No real magical energy need be applied to free the demon. That
tells me something is wrong with your model.<<

One of the ideas behind the summoning circle is that it allows you to
confine creatures that are significantly more powerful than yourself.
That means you'd better be sure that the critter in the summoning circle
can't escape no matter how powerful it is. You can also accidentally
break the wards around most summoning circles and let the beastie out.<<

Another loophole I forgot to point out. The "energy field" in itself is
relatively unstable. While it can't revert to the normal state by
itself, very little outside interaction with it is required to destroy
it. What holds the monster in isn't so much the power of the energy
field (actually very weak), but more that to exit without preparation is
instant death. What would kill it would be the energy flux caused by
becoming used to the energy field in the ward (very much like the
summoned monster's own enviroment) and exiting and not being able to
immediately adapt to the natural energy field. The energy field itself
would not be 100% the monster's energy, probably more like 40 or 50.
That's enough to kill it. If it were less than, say, 20%, then the
monster could get free.

Location has nothing to do with energy levels. Energy levels are all
about
energy (hence the name). The universe is translationally symmetric,
meaning
that there is nothing that distinguishes one location from another. No
quantum charge of location. Translational symmetry is the reason we have
linear momentum conservation.<<

If you think about the fact that I describe an object as a dent, or
translated to terms of lines, a wave, sufficient energy could knock the
wave a quantum number of units in any direction. Hence the term 'quantum
location.' There is no 'quantum charge of location,' just a description
of the universe in quanta.

The soul isn't just some formless glob; it contains information.<<

Not THIS definition of a soul.

The indentations of different materials (and therefore the overlapping
soul) are different. Say you had an object with a dislocated soul, and
you change its form. Logically, the form of the dislocated soul must
also change, because if it didn't then the object wouldn't have a
corresponding soul of the correct shape.<<

Why does it need a corresponding soul of the right shape?

Let me clarify (another thing I forgot to add to the original post ^^),
all matter has soul. There is more soul in this universe than associated
matter. All matter has a minimum amount of associated soul
(gravitational field) which cannot be used, and excess soul
(gravitational field NOT attached to matter) can be picked up. This
excess soul is the part that can be used for magic. As seen, for most
things in the universe do not have all that much excess soul, yet
everything has a little bit. The excess soul is soul NOT attached to
matter, and therefore, isn't related to the matter it's attached to in
any way.
The souls of the living are constructs of soul (similar in nature to
matter, more like small particles). These are connected to the body only
because they have similar construct. The living can have excess soul in
addition to their soul constructs, but as it is the soul construct that
makes the living living, too much or too little can be harmful to the
matter host.

Relativity is not violated.

Like someone on the list said, if rules are violated, MODIFY the rules.

The lesson here is don't apply physical concepts you don't have at
least a basic understanding about. Your hypothesis needs to be
rethought. Waving Einstein in my face will not impress me.<<

That was rather harsh. This is supposed to be a friendly discussion,
right? Yes, I do have a basic understanding of the rules I'm playing
around with. I'm just trying to get a fuller understanding of this
concept through C&C.
