 What does a grendel have to do with wild horses?? Acording to Beowolf

Perhaps this was a reference to the comic by . . . umm Wagner.  Grendel, which
features, among others, Hunter Rose the Grendel, the crime lord, and his
physical and 'spiritual' descendants.
