Ryoucilo's memories of AWA!

Friday

Got to the hotel around five thirty and went up to my room for a while. Came down and did stuff and than went to the opening ceremonies which seemed to take longer than last year. They introduced a ton of guests and a bunch of guests who would not be showing up (bastards) and of course they burned the Magic card which sent everyone into a simultaneous orgasm.
I left the convention hall and went back to my room (either that or I went around begging for spare change) and then I came back down in time to see Karaohki and boy did I wish I hadn't.
I drew some political cartoons while somebody was wailing a ten minute song that everybody hated. I showed my political cartoons to a lot of people and most of them didn't think they were funny (Screw you guys!) and was thankful when Karaohki ended. I left the conference hall and went up the elevator to my room. Until I jumped (Yes, I said jumped) down the stairs to the first floor in time to see Anime Hell.
Most of the clips were from older cons, but they were new to me. Most of the material they showed us was really funny and one of the best parts were things like the live action version of Sailor Moon (I think a couple people killed themselves about this time),  the Japanese live action version of Spider Man (Yes, Spider Man DOES need a giant robot!),  and the Mazinger Z/Devilman crossover. (%My heart is like an atomic bomb, peoples skin burns off from the radiation!%) Decided that if going down nine flights of stairs was that easy going up nine flights of stairs wouldn't be that hard. Yes, I am an idiot. Before I had a heart attack I went to my room and went to sleep.

Saturday

Woke up and went to the Original Pancake House (Not IHOP, that place sucks) and had a really good pancake called a Dutch Baby (Fortunately I didn't ask what the secret ingredient was) Came back in time to watch an anime called 'The Mighty Orbots' which totally sucked. I also saw a preview for Turbo Teen.(I thought RPM was only joking!)
Waited around for everything to open up so that I could waste more of my money. Bought a tape called 'Delinquent in Drag' and one of the issues of 'Battle Angel Alita' I had been looking for. Saw that the Doujinshi tables and noticed that a lot of it was Hentai. (And we know that those books never sell)
Caught the last part of 'Space Ghost Coast to Coast' which was shown in the conference room (They work for me!) and liked the talk they gave even though one of the writers sounded a lot like Norm McDonald.
After the talk I went to buy, buy, buy! Got two videos called 'Ayane's High Kick' and 'Poltergeist Report'. Went to conference room when they started playing music videos. Everybody cheered when someone put on their video 'Shinji is a giant wuss'.
The videos were really great especially Lea Thompson's Weird Al videos and I couldn't stop laughing when I saw 'She's Got a Girlfriend Now'. Saw a Ryouga video set to the tune of '500 miles'. Everybody loved it (Although I'm sure Lara Bartram wouldn't have if she were there) although it might have been a rip off of another video. (Tip of the hat to JD Farber for that one)
Went back up the stairs to my room and then went out to a really cool Malaysian place where I got to eat some red snapper. I really couldn't let the fish go to waste for I am a believer in Carp Diem.
Went up to the fifteenth floor (Didn't run up the stairs this time) to the really big party which really wasn't a big party. Met JD Farber and Keener. Talked to Keener for a long time, but since the conversation wasn't about how great I am I didn't listen and merely thought about what birds celebrities would be.
Lyle Lovitz-Woody Wood Pecker
Alley McBeal-Anorexic Goose
Tori Spelling-Ugly Duckling
At about ten thirty Keener said he had a headache and should probably go to bed. I did too. So many damn birds. Went down the elevator to the ninth floor and went to bed.

Sunday

Last day at the con. Had breakfast at the hotel and there was a chief who would make omletes for people at the buffet, but he wasn't there very much when I was there. Went and saw some old music videos in one of the viewing rooms. Went back to my room and watched some of the new Batman series which had a scene from Batman: The Dark Knight Returns in it and we know what a great comic book for children that is.
Went back downstairs and walked around. Bought two Ranma videos (Viz! Horrible puns at the speed of light) and the dubbed version of Kiki's Delivery Service. Saw some of the music videos that had won or something like that. Went to the fanfic panel at noon. TJ Hamilton, JD Farber, Ken Aromdee, Keener and Cindy Toler were on the panel and so were three other people whose names I forgot. (Sorry!)
It was tons of fun and I got to meet Cindy and talked to her for about three minutes. I think she thought I was funny which is a sign of a true genius.
Had to leave to the convention and maybe I'll come back next year. Maybe than I'll have the good sense to write everything down instead of just pulling it back from memory and boy is my memory selective. I can remember almost all of the stories I've written yet I can't remember that I put a pizza in the oven two hours ago. SNIFF SNIFF.  What's that smell?

Until I find better things  to write about. Ja ne.
