This started well, but as it does on I find I lose interest.  I think the
problem is that this is the umpteenth
repeat-of-the-first-few-chapters-with-variations that I, and probably 
everyone else, has read.

Yeah, I'm sure I'm guilty of that, especially chapter three. 
I'm trying to move away from the cannon in the next few chapters. 
At the rate I'm going, though, it's going to take a couple of years 
before that happens ^_^
