I had the same problem with this that I did with your other recent fic.
Too much background material too soon. Showing us how Bats feels about
Nodoka is great, but I realy don't think we need to hear the whole story
of his time in Japan, at least not before the current conflicts in the
fic have been set into motion.
Some of the characters (Ranma, Nabiki) were handled pretty reasonably.
OTOH, Nodoka seemed too saintly, and Genma was being bashed unfairly
IMO. From the end notes, I assume Akane's going to be pushed quietly and
conveniently out of the way. As for Bats himself, he came across as just
kinda lukewarm... he didn't show the kind of grim determination that
makes him what he is in the comics. (i.e. he came across to me as being
the Michael Keaton Batman.) Then again, he IS on vacation....
