Today, children, I shall tell the tale of a Japanese schoolgirl called
Akane Tendo who did live a relatively normal life in a temple. One day,
though, she was pulled down well by a hideous creature and ended up in
another time, in ancient Japan. She now finds her destiny linked to a
powerful catlike half-demon called Neko-Yasha, whom her previous
incarnation killed. Together, they search for the shards of the mysterious
Shikon Jewel that's dangerous in the wrong hands, man or demon. But if the
arrogant, wild Neko-Yasha ever gets out of hand....

"You macho chick, you can't leave! We have to go sear--"

Akane just utters a magic word to disable the mighty creature....

"Mirror!"

*pause*

"Gyaaahh!  A c-c-caaaat!"

"...."

Did I forget to mention that the legendary Neko-Yasha has just a little
weakness involving cats...?
