The Characters and situations of Ranma 1/2 are the creation and property
of Rumiko Takahashi, and ruthlessly distorted by the Anime, Manga, and
Fanfiction Establishment. We will no longer submit to the yoke of their
shameless lies, and so their petty copyrights mean nothing to us...

A beautiful young woman with crimson colored hair tied in a pig-tail
appeared in the shopping district of Nerima. Her arrival brought cries of
surprise and alarm, which she disregarded in favor of a sobering gaze
towards all. Those who did not flee stood spellbound as she addressed them.

"I am Eclipsica, and it is my duty to tell you the story of the
struggle between the Demon God Set and the Angelic Hosts of Ashise. Long
ago the Demon Lord Kadarke was slain in battle against the forces of Ashise,
dealing the demons a blow they would long suffer.
"But Kadarke had forseen his death and knew arcane formalae that
would return him to life after a thousand years of limbo. The Demon Lord
was reborn, though the price of resurrection was the loss of all memories.
"Both Ashise and Set knew that Kadarke could be swayed to their side
while the Demon Lord was weak and vulnerable. Their agents descended upon
him, eager to win him over -or if that should prove impossible, they would
destroy him once and for all.
"The minions of Ashise and Set are not the only players in this
battle for Kadarke. The powerful Togara Corporation, headed by its
demigoddess Nabiki Kudasawa Tokugawa, has decided that Kadarke could
fulfill their desires of world domination, and to make Nabiki the next
Messiah."

Eclipsica gave the assembled shoppers another sobering gaze, and
they stared back, mesmerized by her words.

"I am Eclipsica, and it is my duty to tell you this story..."

                             CHAPTER ONE

"O Lord and Master, what is thy bidding for me?"
Ranma looked over his shoulder to see Kuno Nihil Terran grovelling
at his back. The man's hakama was ratty and worn, and he reeked of several
weeks worth of abstinence from bathing. He noted the old wrappers from
vending machines protruding from his clothing.
"How about taking a bath?" Ranma suggested.
"As you wish, O Lord and Master!" Kuno said, scraping his chin on the
pavement in his enthusiam to bow. That done, the vagabond promptly leaped
to his feet, and threw himself over the chain link fence that screened the
street from the canal.
There was a loud splash. Ranma felt the heavy droplets wash over him
and sighed. He looked to see Kuno making exaggerated bathing motions as he
splashed around in the water.
"As you say, so is it done, master," Kuno said to Ranma.
Ranma shook his head slowly and continued on down the street. Kuno
pulled himself from the canal and clambered over the fence to rejoin him.
As they continued on their way, a small black pig wearing a yellow and
black bandanna approached from the other side of the street.
"Begone, spawn of hell!" Kuno raged, dropping into a soggy fighting
stance.
The pig regarded the vagabond with an air of indifference.
"I see we are fresh from our monthly bath," it replied.
"Dost thou mock the Raging Spirit of Judeka?!" Kuno cried. "Oh, but
say the word, master, and I shall smite this cursed thing and send it back
into the void from whence it came!"
"Can it, Kuno," Ranma said evenly.
Kuno immediately shrank down to the pavement. Despite his humble
prostrations, he kept his eyes firmly on the pig.
"As you wish, O Lord and Master, but I pray you pay heed to this
demon with but half an ear. He is cunning in his lies."
     Ranma nodded his head slowly.
"Sure he is," he replied. "There's no secret in that. Isn't that so,
Icarius?"
     The pig remained impassive.
     "It is true enough."
     Ranma smiled slightly.
"So, Icarius, what's up with you?"
     The pig cocked his head.
"I come to warn you of another insipid plot of Nabiki's," it replied.
     Ranma frowned.
     "Oh. That's all?"
"That isn't enough?" Icarius returned. His beady pig eyes glinted
coldy in the sunlight.
"When doesn't she have some insipid plot up her sleeve?"
Icarius thought about this for a moment.
"I see your point. Sorry to bother you."
"Not so fast," Ranma said sharply. "Tell me the rest of it."
Icarius cleared his throat, which was unusual for a pig I suppose,
but maybe not for a talking pig. "It seems she's gotten wind of Soun's
latest defeat at your hands, and she wants the corpses of those demons
you dispatched."
     "What for?"
"She thinks she can glean information on possible demonic weaknesses
-as well as get another benchmark on your powers," Icarius replied. "And
since we're on the subject, why don't you let me help you in that regard?
I know you're not even at a hundredth of your potential right now."
"Forget it, Icarius," Ranma sighed. "I only trust you slightly more
than my enemies. Where did they take the bodies?"
"The morgue at Nerima General. Ukyo and Kodachi are supposed to conduct
the snatch."
Ranma smiled slowly. Ukyo was Nabiki's errand girl, so it was no
surprise that she would be tapped for the job. Kodachi on the other hand
was Nabiki's daughter. It seemed like a stupid risk to take for such a
minor gain.
"So how did you find all this out?" he asked.
Icarius gave him an enigmatic look.
     "I shall not tell you."
"Sounds too much like a trap," Ranma decided. "Thanks anyway."
"As you wish," Icarius snorted. "Try to remember the value of Icarius
the next time Soun the Demon of Tears has you in his Mind Twist." He nudged
his snout in Kuno's direction. "You can see what it did to this poor sod.
One day he's a rich investment banker enjoying a little afternoon kendo,
the next he's a deranged vagabond roaming the streets in search of his
next meal."
"Burn in the Hundred Hells of Jusenkyo, demon!" Kuno screamed at the
pig. "I, the Raging Spirit of Judeka, shall send thee there!"
"See what I mean?" Icarius asked. He turned around and walked away,
while Ranma held Kuno back from carrying out his threat.
"O Lord and Master, why didst thou keep thy servant from smiting him?"
Kuno asked.
"He's the least of our troubles, Kuno," Ranma replied. "It's what
Nabiki is up to that bothers me. Let's go check out the morgue."
     "As you say, Lord."

Icarius smiled to himself as Ranma and Kuno continued on their way.
     "All too easy..."
