"My curse is proof that magic isn't impossible, and your hoping
to learn that I've spent the last eleven months studying magic under
the earth's sorcerer supreme, right?"
Nabiki looked at Ranma, then laughed, putting her hand to the back of
her neck. "Yeah, silly huh."

Heh.

I liked this. The fusion works better than I might have thought, though
in retrospect it seems natural enough. The one comment I have is that
I think you'd have had a stronger story if you'd had Ranma supplement
Dr. Strange, rather than replace him. There've been a lot of Ranma/
DC and Marvel crossovers and/or fusion stories lately, and my view is
that the stories where you add the characters together seem to work
a bit better (I like Knightmare better than the series where Ranma IS
Batman, for instance). Also, Dr. Strange himself is by far the most
interesting character in his series (or was; I probably haven't seen
an issue in over 15 years), and you've dispensed with him.

If you're in the mood for a rewrite, I would suggest an approach similar
to "A Faint Hope", where Ranma's stay at the Ancient One's overlaps
that of Stephen Strange, Ranma glimpses Dr. Strange's initial battle
with Mordo, but his own actions and adventures are a pale reflection
of Dr. Strange's. You might give the Ancient One a second evil
apprentice, a not-very-gifted near-blind mage named Mousse. This would
give another meaning to Shampoo's initial claim (anime only) that Mousse
is a master of black magic. And then when it comes time for the Martial
Arts Magic Show...
