It often seems that people ignore some of the best stepping stones in   
actual parts of a series.
One of these I'm actually making use of in something I'm writing now.
 Again using Sailor Moon as an example.
(and I'm using the first example as a jump-off myself.)
 
 The episode where we find Makoto has previously known an award winning
writer who she bullied/befriended and moticvated tyo write.
 She is (in the anime) hesitent to say really anything about the past
relatioship which we see in select flashbacks.
Another....

  The fresh from the pool Sailor Mercury taunts Sailor Moon saying that
her only romantic threat for Tux boy is her. She then is chased laughing
  d giggling around Tux-boy by Miss Moon.   
Who knows...
 Maybe young master Chiba needs some intilectual "stimulation." 

And then there is El Hazard:
 What about Makoto and Ifurita - a Homecoming. 

Now, moving in a direction  which could be both lemon and non-lemon 
 A little while ago a post was mad talking about the fact that not a 
lot of fics got written about series shuch as Burn Up!
 I for one am glad of this....
  Burn up! Brrrrrrr
   Not as bad as Burn Up! W.

   I wouldn't mind seeing somebody write something like 
   a "Mighty Space Miners" story however. Even if it was different 
characters in the same short-lived continuity.
 You could also do a "Debut" series with different stories and 
even  names but I don't think the translation works for the medeum.
I just reciently sent out some C&C for a DNA^2 lemon which I though 
made a step in the writght direction but about 3 steps away (back and 
to the left) from actually working
