have a chance of getting Ranma back home. Of course, I would like to have it

For instance, instead of having her use her magic to bring Ranma back home, why
not have it where Ranma will have to kill her because once she dies, Lina will
become the most powerful and will, say, receive some of her sisters powers,
allowing her to send Ranma back. I basically want a really messed up but,
hopefully, interesting plotline.

Why not have it this way? Two reasons. One, I doubt Lina would murder
her sister just to send Ranma home. Two, Lina and Ranma vs. Luna = a
partially leveled continent and both Lina and Ranma probably being
transformed into knicknacks. Three, hopefully Ranma isn't a callous
enough bastard to murder someone just to go home. Four, Slayers magic
doesn't work like that. Killing Luna won't make Lina stronger anymore
than killing Kasumi would enable Akane to cook. Okay, that's four
reasons. Sue me.
