Folks, in case any of you out there don't know, currently available
evidence indicates that Hitomi is *not* a Japanese national. Anything
she says regarding Japanese life, culture, etc. should be taken with a
grain of salt until it can be verified by an actual Japanese person.
Now, personally I don't care if someone wants to use a pseudonym,
whether Japanese, English, or what have you. But claiming false
credentials and waxing expertly about subjects in which you are not in
fact an expert is not a good thing to do.

I do not believe that this is a proper forum for you
to be making attacks upon her. You have stated 'currently
available evidence indicates' yet you gave no evidence,
merely not so thinly veiled claims that she is lying.
I have to adimt, without evidence I argee with Blackraven, You state that
"evidence" but yet you DO Not give any... What is this evidence? (If it is
the email on her old stories, what does THAT prove? Using a email address
that may be of a diff. contury than your birth, means nothing... she may be
living in a contry but keeps in contact with her relvates back home.)

Okay for the two comments that I wanted to add to this...
One. Gary was right on ONE thing... Take ALL information that you get
ANYWHERE with a grain of salt (Unless you know the source...) As RAH put it
bluntly... GET THE FACTS... but get them from sources you know and trust
(Not to imply that Hitomi is untrustworthy... It's just ALWAYS double check
ANY information that you get. That's why most papers used to {Don't know if
they still do...} have a two source rule...)
Two. Hitomi was right, and I don't even have to go double check her
information on this one, just some simple knowlegde, and logical thinking
will verifry this...(Though I recommend that you do, if curious, check this
out... Sources for COL would be a Japanese embassy or couselate... I think
that there is one IN Rapid city, and I will check it out, and post
information that I get to the list.) Nippon or Japan is a contry about the
size of CA (state) yet it has more than 160+ millon people in it. That
implies that rents and proptery values will be higher for one... Japan
does import most of everything it uses... and recycling is a way of life
there... Importing food, and other items does jack up the costs big time.
For proof, see Hawaii or Alaska...
Folks when making comments about someone's "trustworthyness" please give
PROOF of your accuatisons... or keep it off the list. Still, Gary did make
a good point... TAKE ANY information that you get with a grain of salt...
until you can check it... or have good reasons for trusting it...
(BTW, when Ranma 1/2 was written the yen was trading around 100 to a
dollar, if I recall correctly 92-96...)
