Chapter 1: Meet Kouma Saotome


     Well, I guess this thing is on.  I really can't tell...this thing's 
screen has terrible contrast.  I suppose it'd be more readable if I was, say, 
inside, but I prefer the dojo roof when I write.  Anyway, I've got better 
things to do then complain about this things screen.
     My name is Kouma Saotome.  I'm sixteen today, and this is my diary.
     Yes, my diary.
     Well, okay, that sounds feminine.  Maybe I should call this a journal?  
Yeah...
     My name is Kouma Saotome.  I turned sixteen today, and this is my 
journal.
     I wonder if this thing'll delete?  Ah, it's probably too late to wonder 
about that.
     Well, anyway, my Father, Ranma Saotome, vanished when I was a month old. 
 My mom and Ryoga-san tell me that he had been sent on a mission and probably 
died saving the world.  That doesn't make me feel much better, though.
     I ended up spending the first five years of my life thinking Ryoga was 
my father.  I think you can guess why, for he lived with my mom and me, and 
helped run the dojo.  I was kind of disappointed that Ryoga-san and 
Akari-chan weren't my blood relations, but now I don't think I mind too much.
     A bit over five years ago, Ryoga-san married my Mother. About nine 
months later, Akari-chan and I got a half-sister, Ryoko.  She's pretty cute, 
what with her slick black hair, deep-looking black eyes, and cute little 
fangs.
     Now, what else do I need to tell?  Ah, yes.
     I'm not as good a martial artist as Ryoga-san is, or even my mom is.  
I'm told by both of them that I'm at least as good as my father was when he 
was my age.  Somehow, I don't find this comforting.
     I'm pretty good at school, getting average grades in all but one 
subject: English.  I'm getting top marks in English.  I'm pretty good with 
computers, too, but I try to keep that from being noticed at school.  I've 
even gone to the trouble of using an English SN -- Colt22 -- on the Internet. 
 I've even managed to convince some of my classmates who I've met on the 'web 
that Colt22's really an American exchange student!  I guess I have CrystalPM, 
a friend of mine online, to thank for that.
     It's almost time for lunch, so I better save this and get downstairs.  I 
wouldn't want to miss Ukyo-san's okonomiyaki!
     Now, how did Go-kun tell me to save files...oh yeah, just hit the green 
button.  I'll write more tonight.

then, you should already have guessed this, right?  Anyway, why this is 
titled Kouma *1/2* should become totally clear with chapter two...
