Sorry for the spam, but I really needed to get this out, and I have no 
idea where else to put it.  This was a response I made when a guy 
named Vegemita posted on the Octagon 99 Message board that he wanted 
to join, and could whoop all our asses because he was a Saiyan.  
Something struck me, and I launched into a little rant for all those 
who think Saiyans are the baddest thing to happen to anime since 
Astroboy.  Now, I like Dragon Ball Z, but let's fave it, there are 
several beings and characters in other Animes who could mop the floor 
with your average Saiyan.  If you're considering a crossover with DBZ 
and another series, you might find this intresting.

(Of course, the original post turned out to be a joke.) ^_^

And so, my rant.  Along with the phrase that set me off in the first 
place.  My DBZ information is still a bit sketchy, and may be 
inaccurate, but I think I do get my point across.

I'm getting tired about how everyone says that Saiyans are 
unstoppable.  I like Dragon Ball Z, but that's just plain wrong.

Let's see...  All the Saiyans except Goku, Vegita, Nappa, Raditz, 
Pargas, Tulus, and Brolly get killed by Freeza.

Raditz and Goku killed by Piccolo.  Goku brought back by Dragon Balls.

Nappa killed by Vegita

Vegita defeated when a de-transforming Gohan falls on him.

Vegita whooped by Zarbon.  Survives only because Zarbon put him in a 
Regeneration Tank

Vegita killed by Freeza.  Brought back by Dragon Balls

Goku killed by Cell.  Comes back for Tenkaichi Budokai.  Comes back 
later.

Vegita killed by Buu.  Comes back later.

Tulus killed by Goku

Pargas killed by Brolly

Brolly killed by Goku, then Gohan, Goten, and possibly Goku, then 
killed again by Goten and Trunks.

I think Goku even got killed by Vegita once in GT.  

And many times, the only way the Saiyans came back was because of 
the Dragon Balls.  I didn't really mention Gohan. Trunks, Goten, 
Pan or Bra because they're halfbreeds, and thus aren't true 
Saiyans.  Remamber, _their_ power comes from the human blood in them.

In Dragon Ball, Saiyans are(sorry, were) actually on the _low_ end of 
the power spectrum.  Couie, Dodoria, Zarbon, the Ginyu Force, Freeza, 
Cold, Cell, Dabura, Buu, and several others were much stronger that 
the avarage Saiyan.  Remember, Nappa was the _most powerful_ Saiyan 
under Vegita, and Vegita blew him away easily. 

Later villians like Couie and Dodoria were only defeated by Vegita 
because he had gotten stronger from recovering from the beating he had 
gotten on Earth.  Goku and Vegita are special cases.  In much of the 
Freeza Saga, Vegita is belitttled for being a Saiyan.  You shouldn't 
judge an entire race, fictional as it may be, on the examples of two 
induviduals and a handful of halfbreeds.  Brolly doesn't really count 
because he was a movie character, and thus not true DBZ canon.  Not to 
mention was insane.  It is not Saiyans that are so "unstoppable," but 
Goku.  And he even gets whooped quite a few times.  Goku never 
actually killed Vegita, Freeza, OR Cell, and only beat Buu with a lot 
of help.  Just about every villian in DBZ has been more powerful than 
the heroes, and the Z-warriors have only one their fights through 
skill, or the fact that the enemy underestimated them.  Many times, 
they were saved early on in the fight by a timely rescue.

The Saiyans _ARE_ defeated.  Freeza blew up the planet Vegita like it 
was nothing, and the only two survivors are Goku and Vegita.  When 
they're gone, the Saiyans are no more.  True, part of them will live 
on in their decendants, but they are the last two purebred Saiyans.
