Goody! I can't wait to read 'em. If by all the ends, the teaser's an 
indictation of what's about to come (which it is), then I'm eagerly awaiting 
it. It's been quite some time since Mike L. last wrote a fic, since, uhh... 
Bliss, wasn't it?

Hmmmm... Kinda looks like Akane sold her sole to Darkness.  So she really
is EVIL now! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!

This is just purely for intersest and a bit of defense on Akane's behalf (and 
I may be over-reacting...)

Well, I'm of two minds about this. True, it looks like Akane may have "sold 
her soul to Darkness," as Jct3 so eloquently put to it, and I'd recongize 
that outline of the figure anywhere, after drilling it into my mind after 
reading one of the best Ranma 1/2 fanfics written out there. But there's also 
a contradictory information presented by the text to the right of the figure.
It states that two years had passed since their last confrontation (Ranma and 
this mysterious individual), so there's no way it could be Akane. Manga-wise, 
one year haven't even passed since Ranma and Akane first met, and how could 
two of them have met previously if they hadn't met until that day? Notice a 
particular sentence, which ends, "... ran off without a trace afterwards." 
R&A've been seeing each other since they first met. So this rules out Akane 
(AND she is NOT the violent homidical mallet-welding maniac).
What's more is that the shadow character wasn't given a name at all, or any 
form of idenity at all, so why do we assume that it's Akane? For all we know, 
this person could have come after Akane for revenge.
What it looks like to me, is another case of new fanfic-created character 
popping up for revenge against Ranma.

But the again, if this is an alternate universe fic, then by all the means, 
please disregard what I said out of your window. :)
