The Eternal Lost Lurker a crit:

I have been looking for months a fanfic
>from Jorge A. Pratt called Lightbirds (I think)

It's the sequel to The Four Birds of Fire
and The Caller's Plight and I just can't
find it anywhere (that is, if he actually
wrote any of them. It was announced though.)

Please, any information concerning that fanfic
is welcome.

Private answers only please. I want to keep ffml spam
traffic to a minimum.

Actually, this merits a public response, because a LOT of people ask about
this, and Pratt-san is notoriously slow (read: the polar ice caps move
faster) at answering e-mail. Of course, he has a very busy life, what with
college and all, so this is to be expected.

And since I know about as well as anybody (other than the man himself) what
the status is of Lightbirds and the rest of the Song of the Phoenix
series...here's what's going down.

Pratt-san is currently in the process of doing major revisions (might even
call it a rewrite) of The Four Birds of Fire. I've been priveleged to see
the new prologue, and let me tell you, if the rest of the rewrite is as
good as the prologue, we're all in for a hell of a treat.

Of course, this also means that after he has finished *that*, the next step
will likely be a rewrite of The Caller's Plight...and as those of you
familiar with his works know, TCP is well over 2MB in length...so it's
going to take a loooooooooong time for him to finish that.

Lightbirds, the fic the poster was originally requesting, was never
finished, and it doesn't appear it will be finished before the rewrites (in
fact, it may end up being rewritten also.)

I dont know, but I send for 490K of Lightbirds to Rui Costa. I am the only
one who intercepteit when it was available or what ? In my idea, 490K is big
enough. except if you compare
with the previous part maybe!?!

Anyway, I offer to send it on the FFML if the writer/reader on the ML want it.
Lightbirds part 1 to 5 in a ZIP of 180K or 490K in text format

Salut bien !
