This is one of those debates which will quckly fall into the less rational
forms of argument.
 How can I tell? It mirrors a few other threads on similair "Sailor Moon
is reallly Evil" plots....
So, I'm suggesting that we pretty much let this argument drop as it's one
of those which WON'T be answered (unless you choose your rebuttal in the
form of a fic.)

 As another note (and my last) relavent to the quote below.
 One of the only (not the only but the most consistant.) characters in
Star Wars ( but of course we have no idea what they say of-screen)
  who consistantly tells the truth and is totaly (in his views) honest
is Palpatine.
