Hmmm. I don't know about Yig. Yig has acted against the GOO/OG several
times.
It seems to be more independent.

Just so you everybody knows, if you follow the link to COAEG from

Just for information's sake, the list, as it appears in the first
animation,
is as follows.

Atlach-Nacha
Rhan-Tegoth
Ithaqua
Ghathanothoa
Hastur
Yig
Tsathoggua
Y'golonac
Shudde-M'ell
Cthugha
Daoloth
Nyarlathotep
Cthulhu

Not quite the roster I'd've pulled up, but passable. Y'golonac's pretty
weak; Cyaegha might have been a better choice. Since its buried in
Germany,
this would have supplied much fodder for the Make Asuka Miserable
Foundation
(membership $9.99; call today).

Also, I don't see Daoloth as a particularly good choice (see below).
Other
options might be Glaaki, Nyogtha, or Zoth-Ommog.

Cthugha'll be difficult. As a being composed entirely of plasma, with no

solid mass, the Eva will be unable to touch this GOO nor can physical
attacks hurt it. Also, beam weapons are a doubtful prospect, and would
most
likely pass through Cthugha with no damage or be absorbed. In a ST:TNG
fanfic I saw, the Enterprise killed Cthugha be teleporting hundreds of
fire
extinguishers into the center of Cthugha's cloud-body. Somehow, I doubt
that's a viable answer to this problem.

Hey, are the Eva's going to travel to the GOOs, like they did with
Ithaqua?
Because, as you may know, some of these Great Old Ones aren't found near
Japan. Yig and Tsathoggua are buried under North America in K'n-Yan and
N'kai. Yig's tomb in K'n-Yan is supposed to be under Oklahoma.
Y'golonac's
avatar can appear anywhere, but his physical form is imprisoned somewhere

under England (or in one story Siberia). The rest shouldn't present any
major problems location-wise.

Lastly (in this section at least), while Cthulhu is really cool and all,
I
think that you really ought to place him before Nyarlathotep. While he's

got a lot of name recognition, his power level much less than
Nyarlathotep's. The biggest threat should come last.

And yes, Nyarlatotep is on the elist (the ONLY Outer God on the >list)
and
as for him standing in for Kaoru, that's one of the >biggest no-brainers

around.

Actually, Daoloth is also an Outer God. Although I really wonder why
Daoloth would even bother turning up. Only people who take drug that
shift
them into phase with higher dimensions are ever bothered by Daoloth, or
occasionally folks who muck about with funny-looking sculptures. And how

would Evas be any use against something that effectively IS a higher
dimension, and like Yog-Sothoth or Azathoth is probably a fundamental
part
of reality?

And Hastur will either be the next one, or the one after. According >to
the
charts, that is.

Tokyo-3 in phase with Carcosa! Film at 11.
