(I've been programming for wayyyy too long.
The Tokyo Dome, set up for a concert. Already the lines to get
in are kilometers long, but nobody waiting seemed to mind, for this
was the first Tokyo, nay Japanese concert of the hot new all-female
group from the USA... 'The Gems'. Their lead singer was Sapphire, AKA
Rana "Wild Child" Smith. She was a stunning redhead, with eyes that
shouted of how she'd gotten her stage name. With a voice that brought
back the heydays of Rockers like Pat Bentar or Steve Nicks, Sapphire
was always a center of attention. Some of the people outside of the
stadium are from the district of Nerima; having gotten tickets for
this sold out in ten minutes concert in mail from an unknown
benefactor. Other people from the area of Tokyo who had tickets knew
who gave them the tickets and why, and they were happy to see their
friend or relative make it finally...
Backstage six people waited for the opening act to finish
warming up the crowd. One was the stunning redhead that many had come
to see. Another was the blue-black haired guitarist, Ruby. Diamond on
keyboard, Topaz on bass, and - the near twin of Sapphire - Fire Opal
on drums completed the group.
The Nerima contingent could have sworn that Ruby was one of the
two missing people that insanity had swirled around five years ago.
Sapphire looked like the male of the pair's female from, but no one
would buy that RANMA of all people would be a rocker, at least a
female one, not dressed like she was on stage!
The oldest person backstage was a stern faced woman, who looked
like a slightly older version of the singer. Wearing a business suit,
and with her hair in a French braid, she smiled at the two young
ladies then spoke to them. "Well, you two, I must admit I was not
expecting THIS as the reunion for us with all those old friends of
ours. Especially since Rana did say that she was only performing to
earn the money for Med school, and to help finance that film for you
two." She said with a wink at the guitarist, then a smile at the Bass
player as she tuned up. "But," the older woman said, as her eyes
returned to Ruby, "I didn't expect that you would have such a talent
playing the guitar; or that I would end up the agent for a rock
band..."
Sapphire grinned. "Well, now I didn't expect this myself. But
when you offered us a place to live, and a way out of the insanity
five years ago, I didn't have much to expect out of the future..."
*Snort* "You never DID expect much out of the future! That's my
job, remember BAKA!" Ruby replied with a grin and a playful punch at
Sapphire before returning to strumming her guitar.
Diamond shook her head for a moment, then spoke to the two girls
who fronted the band. "Well it's time for you two to get out there and
wow the crowd... Wonder if ANYONE will figure it out, besides Big
Sister? We TOLD her, after all!" The group's keyboard player smiled a
moment then shooed the two out after the other members of the band
before finally joining them on stage.
As the Nerima crowd found their seats, the old gang that seemed
to be part of that district's insanity before the twin centers of it
just up and left ended up seated together. They compared notes and
found out that ALL of them got the tickets the same way... Right in
front of them, were four older, in two cases FAR older, people...
As the stage lights dimmed, two figures bounded on the stage...
and the sound of a four count snapped out, ending the group's
discussion...
The lights came on, and the music began to play...
A sweet soprano voice sang out backed by a guitar being played
by the hands of a master...
The Nerima contingent focused on the two girls in front, backed
by the band... All five performers wore skin-tight leather pants and
brightly colored gem-tone tunic-style blouses, and on their hands were
fingerless gloves in their shirt's colours. The guitarist wore a
bright red silk blouse, over which a white sash was tied; the singer
wore an unbuttoned leather vest with an upturned collar over her
bright blue blouse. Ruby's hair was cut in a short bob, while
Sapphire's was in a braid that reached below her waist. What didn't
really resister on the crowd was that the two ladies up front were
both about the same height, though that was due to the fact that the
guitarist was wearing flat heeled cavalry boots, and the singer was
wearing spiked mid calf boots... The other three ladies on stage were
dressed similarly, but they didn't stand out in the minds of the
Nerima crowd. Diamond, the keyboardist was brown-haired with a
pageboy cut and wore a sparkling silver-white blouse. No one could see
her eye colour due to the mirrorshades she wore. The drummer, Fire
Opal, was a redhead with exactly the same hairstyle as the singer,
wore an iridescent black blouse with fire burst red patterns that
brought out the fire in her red-brown ryes. On her head rode a beret
in the same colours as the blouse that she wore. Finally Topaz, the
bassist, had long blonde hair and wore a shining metallic gold blouse
along with a scarf around her neck in the same colour. There was
already talk in the States about a movie project in the works for Ruby
and Topaz.
The crowd got turned on as the words began to resister...
One song especially touched the minds of the Nerima crowd...
The two on stage and up front mixed their voices for this song,
with help from the others...
A soft gentle tone, unlike what had come before, hard driving
fast paced rock.
"When will it end, When will you all learn to give up,"
"When will you all learn that love cannot be won, but only
given..."
"When will you all find what you deserve, and leave us to be...
"When will we get to control our own fates?"
"When will we be able to show ourselves without fearing that
people will try to ruin what we have?"
"When will we be free to live as we will, not as you will..."
"When will we stop being controlled by those who wish for things
we cannot give"
"When will we be done with what they call fate or destiny?"
"When will we be able to be free?"
"When will we be able to be free?"
"When will you find love? When will you find your truths?"
"When will you find happiness?"
"When will you stop blaming others for things that they did not
do?"
"When will you be your own person?"
"When will you be free?"
"When will you be free?"
"When will let us take our own roads?"
"When will you believe in yourself?"
"When will you let go of the hate and fear, or of ways that do
not work?"
"When will you accept what you are given and not try to take
things that you will never have?"
"When will we be able to be free to love and laugh as we wish?"
"When will we be able to be with who we want to be?"
"When will we be able to be what we want?"
"When will we be able to be ourselves, freely?"
The song ended, and the lights faded out...
Story Notes
Timing
Ranma 1/2 ended 6 years before this story
(Ranma and Akane are both 22 and Nabiki 23)
Sailor Moon Stars Ended 7 years ago, and MKR ended 8 years ago.
(Mina and Hikaru are both 22 also.)
Yes this IS a crossover between the three series, but not quite like
you expect.
Why are Ranma and Akane (along with the others) rockers? Why does it
appear that Ranma and Akane disappeared?
Why is Ranma a FEMALE rocker?
What is going on...
BWHAHAHAHAHAH... I will tell all... soon.
Author's notes...
Don't quite know where this one came from, blame a loose wire.
