My guess (hey, I'm just the author ^_-) would be that changing the past
is beyond Ranma's capabilities. Therefore, the wish would have the
effect of making him currently uncursed. However, going back to male
form negates the wish, so therefore he can be transformed again by the
next splash of water.

That make any sense? :)
