The hair *is* kinda of variably colored. But I don't think it's ever
really "pink". The figurine I have on my desk (I'm looking at it now)

Well, it looks pink to me, but I've been accused of having trouble with
colors in the pink-to-purple range before... fuchsia, perhaps?
The word is "Magenta." It's one of the secondary colors -- an equal
mixture of red and blue light with absolutely no green. If you want to
see it, call up one of the color adjustment sliders on your computer and
set red and blue to maximum and green to zero. You'll notice the
resulting color *exactly* matches Nuku's hair in most pictures.
