The Kenshin dub tapes from Shin sen Gumii have quite a few "Tomb Raider"
ads and at least marketing-wise it seems to be grared towards women...
but then so are the Kenshin RPG games.
 - the continuing exploits of the girl who thinks she's Kenshin crack me
up almost as much as the Sega "you drive the subway" sims.

Given that I have a tape with a Japanese ad for Tomb Raider on it, I would
assume the game has been released in Japan, and that's how.

According to the makers of Tomb Raider, it's very popular in Japan.
It's very popular among Japanese women, for some reason.

I was mainly thinking that the Tendos aren't likely to own a game
machine. They don't have a lot of disposable income.

If they can afford a Karaoke machine, they can afford a game machine.
