This is what makes it appealing, I think. It's a festival of
animation, not a festival of rampant commercialism. The emphasis is on
the many rooms of anime showing, something that I never hear about the
American Cons.

The early start was really irritating. I complained about it, in
fact. The staff assured me that the projectionist would be annihilated
in a most humorous way.

Indeed. That's why I keep coming back. That's why I helped organize a
couple of them.
