The small ship lay still, waiting for its prey.  There it was! like some 
gigantic hologram of a worm it came, though in reality the target was not 
worm shaped but it was the size of Jupiter its just that the drive system 
this craft used caused it to go back in time a few seconds(like the small 
ship).  The ship waited for the right time unlike its companion ships 3 of 
them had been destroyed impacting the enemy ship while the fourth one 
suffered a failure in its drive control circuitry, now only this ship 
remained the fifth, the last one standing between this alien monster and 
earth.  Should he fail the human race would be dropped into a black hole 
like all of the other civilizations that once thrived in this galaxy.  
NOW!!!! the little ship started following the alien machine, each time the 
alien machine phased into this reality from hyperspace the little ship shot 
a few hundred nanorobot's at the vast machine, the nanorobots were 
programmed to break up the alien artifact atom by atom.  At first the vast 
machine took no notice of the nanorobots or the small ship trailing it, 
every time a system broke down some auxillary system took over, but over 
time there were too many malfunctions for the alien machine to work properly 
and by the time it reached a source of minerals to begin repairs it suffered 
its last malfunction in the singularity reactor, the explosion lasted for 
several days.  The pilot of the small ship breathed a sigh of relief and 
began instructing the computer to head back to earth, by the time he would 
reach earth even with the aid of nanotechnology to slow the effects of 
growing younger (via use of the drive) and to reimprint memories as they are 
lost he will be 1 year old when reaching earth.
Unfortunately this pilot was not fated to reach Earth or rather this Earth, 
as the FTL space drive itself malfunctioned, the small ship disappeared in a 
burst of light though it paled in comparison to the explosion of the alien 
machine astronomers on earth would still see it and wonder as to the cause 
hte malfunction while the pilots mother and father would cry over the loss 
of their child.
