Chapter three: "The perfect plan!"


   Mid afternoon.  In a District not far from Nerima.

   We see a Panda, running on all fours in the middle of the street.
Running like it has all the demons of hell after it,
which was not far from the true.

They saw many fireball flies by the Panda, while it tried to dodge
them frantically, when it wasn't jumping up ten meters or more.

   After that, the peoples on the street, were about to take cover
when they were stopped by what the Panda was fleeing.

   A red-hair' girl of fourteen at most.  They were all stopped there,
not believing what they saw, then dismissed it as a mirage.

That change when the girl shot a 'Fireball' seeming from nowhere,
directed to the fleeing Panda, who was not able to dodge this time.

   "Ok, old man.  Now that our workouts are over," said Ranma over a
slightly burned Panda: "We can discuss what we will do."

After giving some thought to that, she continues:

   "We can go to that Dojo you talked about earlier.  We remained here only
for a few months, the time I could find a way to cure myself," began Ranma.

   "<I had engaged you at birth with one of the girls of Soun Tendo . . . >"
the Panda had written on a sign.  He needed more space so he erased and
continued to write.

   "Are you nut?!  Not another one!" she shouted, losing any remaining
patience she had before learning of it, and shouted:

   "'Lightning Strike'" she directed a small part of the spell on the Panda
and the rest around it.

   After the light show was over, we see an unconscious Panda, lightning still
cursing through it.

   Not many peoples remained either, most had fled the youma, or what they
took for one anyway.

   The red-hair' girl approached the Panda, said something nobody can hear,
and continue where she was going with a floating Panda and a glowing gem
not far behind them.


[Tendo Dojo.  Calm before the storm, so to speak!]

"Kasumi, the door!" said Soun Tendo to his oldest daughter.

"Yes father." replied Kasumi in the same manner she said nearly anything else.

She then proceeded to the door, opened it and was greeted by a sight
she won't ever forget.

A red-hair' girl stood before her in a red Chinese shirt, designed with
dragons and lightning in it seams and a pair of black pants.

Behind the girl she saw a floating Panda and dismisses it.

"I should have taken my medicine today." she thought.

But then she saw also the floating gem.

"Oh my!  How cute, a floating gem!" exclaimed Kasumi, happy to see such
beauty, even if unusual.

The pet-gem for it parts, landed on Kasumi joined hands and start pulsing
at the same rate than Kasumi's breathing.

Kasumi was delighted by it.

"What it's called?" she asked, still hypnotize by the pulsing gem.

"It's a gem that I bound an Air Elemental with.  It became my pet-gem,
 very helpful too." explained Ranma.

Kasumi for her part didn't caught half of it, but was happy to known
it was a pet.

"What it can eat?" she asked innocently.

"Huh,  . . . " was the only thing Ranma could think at first.

After a while, she decided to explain:

"It live more or less on my magical power."

Kasumi was sad that she can't feed it, but finally remember:

"Oh, my!  Where's my manner?  Come in please." she invited them to enter.

"Sorry about this!" she said, pointing to the wet Panda and followed Kasumi
inside, her pet-gem still with Kasumi.


[Later]

"Father.  We have guests." Kasumi announced to him, entering with the guests
in the dinner-room.

Soun Tendo for his part, after seeing the red-hair' girl and the floating
Panda and gem, was reacting as usual:

"Wahhhh!  We are invaded by aliens!" and used wailing #892.

    {One more year of that, added a lot of news wailing}

Akane, a girl of 17 years of age, ran into the dinner room at that
and put out her beloved mallet from nowhere and proceeded to use it.

"Take that!  And that!  And that!" she hammered furiously the already
unconscious Panda.

Ranma finally released the fly spell on her father.
That girl with a hammer was putting a straight on her power in her quest
to put down the Panda from mid air.

"Can you stop that?  You gave me a headache!" asked Ranma politely,
to the unknown girl.

"Why stops?!  It's not dead yet!" said the girl, not stopping at all.

"'Sleep'!" intoned Ranma.

Akane dropped asleep in Ranma's hands.
Soun dropped too,
Kasumi not far behind, but was cushioned in her fall by the pet-gem power.

Only Nabiki remained conscious, by will power alone or
because she's not yet in the room, we will never know.

"I think I overdid it a little." said Ranma out loud.

"Yeah.  And it will cost you for that too!" Nabiki tried to intimidate
that strange girl who had just send her entire family to sleep.

"What do you mean, cost me?" asked Ranma, turning to see who had just spoke.

"Exactly what it means.  If you think you can barge in there and assault my
family like that, you were very mistaken!" Nabiki said, trying again to look
intimidating with her ice-queen persona.

Ranma examined the girl and decided she doesn't want to be in bad terms
with her.

She lacked any chi or magic, but her willpower was amongst the strongest
she had seen so far, and seemed to say: 'Don't cross me, or else!'.

Many Amazons had that look too.

In view of that, Ranma said:

"Would that be enough to compensate for any inconvenient caused by our
 presence here?" and present to her five bills of ten-thousand yens each.

"It's a beginning." replied Nabiki, happy to see a guest who has money
for a change.  She didn't show it thought.

Already new plans to take more money from her began to germs in her head.
She was surprised by the amount she gave her, else she would have asked
for more.  Even Kuno-baby didn't give her that much at one time usually.

"So, why are you here?" asked Nabiki, knowing knowledge is money.

"Just searching a place to rest for a couple of months," she began.

"And why we would do that?  And you didn't say who you were either."
Nabiki asked.

"Sorry about that.  My name Ranma Saotomes.  The Panda, in critical condition
over there, is my father, Genma Saotomes.  The floating gem near Kasumi is my
pet-gem." she introduced them.

"No family similarity that I can see." Nabiki said, eyeing the Panda.

"Thank the gods for that!" exclaimed Ranma, and continue:
"You just have to pour hot water on it to turn him human." she explained.

Not really believing it but thinking of her family, Nabiki asked:

"When they will awaken?"

"They should begin to awaken now."

As if on clues, Kasumi stirred:

"Oh my!  I fell asleep." she gets up and goes to her father, who was also
getting up.

"Sorry you two, I was trying to stop the tomboy for killing my father." Ranma
explained to them.

Soun saw Akane asleep and wailed:

"Wahhhhh!  You killed my baby!" wailed #893 and he took his youngest daughters
in his arms.

"Hey!  I just put her to sleep!" protested Ranma.

"My baby is Ok.  Wahhhhhhhhhhhh!" he wailed again.

"Is he always like that?" Ranma asked Nabiki, seeing how Soun reacted.

"One thousand yens please!" Nabiki asked her.

"Why that?"

"You asked valuables backgrounds info on my family." replied Nabiki, having
fun for once.

"Oh . . ." she can only say, and finally added "forget it!"

"Ok.  Your loss."

"She's not stupid at least!" Nabiki thought to herself.

"So.  How about talking of the costs to remains as guests?" she asked Nabiki.

"I'm sure we can come up with something, but you should ask permission to my
 father first." replied Nabiki.


[Later, after a lot of discussions on who's who]

"So you see, my daughter is really my son.  He's cursed to remained with that
female body since last year." explained Genma carefully, eyeing Ranma for any
signs of spell-casting or other nasty surprises that she kept throwing at him
since China for no reason at all.

"Yeah, right!  As if we will believe you!" said Akane, very skeptical and not
forgetting the 'sleep' spell put on her either.

"If the curse of my father wasn't enough, what proof will do?" Ranma asked her.

"I don't know." Akane could only reply.

"I could show you what I looked like last year then." proposed Ranma.

Seeing no objection she went in a sufficiently clear area,
intoned the rhyme and concentrated:

"Appearance isn't all,
 Show us when I was male!"

Which created an illusion.  Her form became blurred an instant,
and reformed as what he has looked like before Jusenkyo.

She had created that spell specifically to be call easily,
and a rhyme was the best activation sequence she could think of at the time.
Even if advanced magic didn't work properly most of the time,
she seemed to have gained the ability to improvised.
It didn't always work either thought.

Nabiki for her part was already thinking of means to make money from it.

Kasumi thought how nice it was to do illusion like that.

Akane could only think: "Figure!  Just another pervert!"

Soun then said: "It's no problem then.  Kasumi is 20, Nabiki is 19
and Akane is 17.  Chose the one you want, and she will be your fiancee."

"It's just an illusion!  Have you heard anything I said?" yelled Ranma,
dropping the illusion and lightning starting cursing through her.

Soun seeing this: "Wahhhhh!  She's sooo scary!" wailed #894.

Genma then grappled Soun by the arm and ran to take cover out of the house.

Ranma calm down a lot after their hasty retreated.

"Sorry about this.  I have a problem with my temper." explained Ranma
to the three sisters.

"Oh my!  Anyone wanted some tea?" Kasumi finally asked.

"Yes, thank you, that a very good idea." replied Ranma.

"Don't worry about father.  He will get over it." Nabiki said.
"Eventually." she added to herself.

"Was that lightning you had around you before?" asked Akane,
starting to see a sort of kind' spirit in that girl, who wasn't really one.

"Not really.  I had modified the illusion to show that.  It has worked in
 scaring them too." explained Ranma-chan, smiling.


[Outside]

"Soun, we have to talk.  You don't know what my son is able to do now.
She worse than the Master," began Genma.

"She has stole underwear too?" Soun asked, still in shock.

Genma facefault!

After recuperating he tried to explain:
"No.  If only.  But no.  She uses magic as easily as she can breathe.
 Lightning, fireballs, flight, sleep that you experience, a stop spell
 and a lot others nasty surprises that I had experienced since China.
 And now illusions."  he added the last part to himself but loud enough
for Soun to hear it.

"At least she didn't steal underwear." Soun can only reply, recovering
very slowly from all the repeat shocks.


[Indoor]

Nabiki, Akane, Kasumi and Ranma were all around the table, drinking
the tea that Kasumi did earlier.

"So, what can we do about that engagement?" asked Ranma
to the three Tendo' girls.

"Just ignore it!  It the more idiotic idea father had come up with!"
said Akane, temper flaring.

"You known dad, if he wanted this engagement, he will stick to it
at all cost." said Nabiki in replied to Akane's outburst.

"Oh my!  Was it proper for two girls to be engaged?" asked Kasumi innocently.

Major facefault around the table.

Kasumi seeing them facefaulting, decide it's seemed to be fun and
facefault too.  She never tried this before.


[Outside]

" . . . She even stops me from training her when we ate, with a 'Shield'!"
Genma continues to lament to a Soun fast bored to death by it.


[Indoor]

"So Ranma, you go to school tomorrow?" asked Akane.

"School?  Don't need that.  I already graduate in China in Martial Art
 Mathematic, and I speak a good Mandarin and others dialects, chemistry too
and other subjects.  So I had really no needed for that." finished Ranma.

"'Martial Art Mathematic', What is that?" asked Akane, curious.

"Just how to apply math and physic to martial art.  You know,
 things like trigonometry, mass --> mather --> energy conversion theory.
 These kinds of things." replied Ranma, and added:
"Very helpful in magic too."

"Can you teach me magic please?" asked Akane, with the biggest smile
she could manage.

Ranma blinked at that smile, two times, hard!

"I don't know.  You have to be able to do magic.  Not anyone can learn it.
 Only the few who produced it naturally or sensitive enough to it,
 but they had to use an external power source then." explained Ranma.

Akane was very disappointed to hear that.

"And I'm under a promise not to teach any Amazons techniques to any person
who wasn't an Amazon." added Ranma as an apology and explanation.

"It's ok.  I understand." Akane said and asked her something else:
"Do you practice Anything Goes?"

"Yes.  I learned a lot in China too." replied Ranma.

"Want to spar?" asked Akane suddenly.

Ranma saw her with that smile again and can't say no this time.

So she followed Akane to the Dojo.


[Diner room]

"Kasumi, it's only the two of us then." Nabiki said to her.

"It's really not proper, you know.  But if Akane like her already . . . "
began Kasumi.


[Dojo]

"Don't use magic, I already know you could knock me out easily with it.
 Only Martial Art this time." asked Akane.

"Ok." said Ranma and took a ready stance.

Akane took one too, and jumped over Ranma, trying to surprise her by a kick
behind in her somersault, except Ranma was already out of the way,
ready for anything else.

"Very good.  A lesser fighter would be in trouble the first time they saw that
 maneuver.  But it has you open to counter attack, if they knew it before."
explained Ranma.

They continue to spar for a while.  Ranma analyzing Akane's skill,
and Akane becoming frustrated by not being able to connect anything.

"Stop!  I have... enough!" said Akane, trying to catch her breath.

"You are very good Akane." said Ranma and added:
"You defense is poor thought."

Akane who was just praised and insulted at once was not sure
what to do except continuing to catch her breath.

"I could help you with that if you wanted?" asked Ranma,
after waiting for a reply which never came.

Akane smiled a little and said: "I had liked that."


[Outside]

" . . .  we only have to wait for Ranma to find a spell that can change
him back to a man and our two families will be joined." finished Genma.

He then saw that Soun was fast asleep.


[Between the Dojo and the bathroom]

"So, do you want to go to school?" Akane asked again.

"I think I should.  I wouldn't want to be here all day with my pop."
replied Ranma, not liking school very much but she liked her father even less.

"Good.  I will go take a bath now." with that said, Akane does just that.

After Akane left, she daydreamed:
"She can be cute when she wanted.  And that smile . . ."


[Diner room]

Soun finally awakes, was talking to Kasumi and Nabiki,
while Genma was silent in the background.

"Kasumi, can you prepare the guest room for Genma and his son, please?"
began Soun.

"Yes father." and she goes to find what she wills needs to do that.

"Nabiki, they will pay a small rent to rested here as guest.
 Ranma insisted on it.  Can you discuss it with her?" he asked.

"We already began to negociate about that dady.  So don't worry about a thing."
she replied.

"Before you go, where is Akane?"

"She's taking her bath.  She has a workout with Ranma earlier."

"Good!  And thank you." said Soun.


[Later at night on the roof]

The two were on the roof only to be alone.
Soun has tried to make the engagement official between them more than once
today.  Ranma didn't know it but this was the plan that Genma and Soun had
discuss after Soun was awakened rudely by Genma.
He was thrown head first into the koi pond.


"How being in China was liked?" asked Akane.

"China was very fun, if you forget Jusenkyo and my father." said Ranma.

"And?"

"I learned amazing Martial Arts techniques, magic, Mandarin, how to be an
 Amazon, and unfortunately a girl too." added Ranma less happy at the thought.

"Oh!  Is it really that bad being a girl?"

"No, not bad.  Just not right for me." Ranma can only say to explain what,
herself, didn't understand completely.


[On the way to school]

"It's your fault we were late.  Whose idea was it to sleep
 on the roof anyway?!" complained Akane.

They were running at full speed to school.  Even Kuno was not a bother
for more than 1/2 second.

"Ah!  Just in time.  Hurry Ranma we can still make it!"

Ranma was not very patient and said:

"'Fly'!" taking Akane in her fly path with her.

They enter seven seconds later by a third floor window of the school.

A pity they weren't in the proper class thought.


[Later, out of class]

"It your fault if we had to hold buckets of water!" said Akane.

"How was I to known we didn't goes to the same class?" asked Ranma.

"We aren't the same age for one thing."

"I'm seventeen too, you know." protested Ranma

"Don't seem like it where I stand from." Akane said, looking at the girl of
fifteen at most.

"Hey, it a curse, and you known it."

They didn't resort to violence but it was a near thing.


[Lunch' time]

"We didn't even take your lunch before going to school Ranma.
 I don't have the money either." complained Akane.

"Do you think this will be enough to buy both lunch?"
Ranma teased her, giving her ten-thousand yens.

"It should be enough.  Just don't do that when Nabiki was around."
was the only thing Akane thought to say.

"Kept the money.  I have a lot more where it came from." Ranma said,
also as a way of an apology.


[After the end of class, near the exit of the school' courtyard]

"Oh Akane!  My Goddess of the Hunt!  I, the Blue Thunder of Furikan High,
didn't saw thee in my last attempt to your heart, you who truly belonged
to me . . . " Kuno Tatewaki, the guy who was trying since last year to win
the heart of Akane Tendo continues for a while.

Ranma turned to talk to Akane:
"Is this guy for real?  He's the more stupid I ever saw in my life,
 and believed me, I had seen a lot.  I shouldn't remain here too long.
 My speech had become funny.  It may be contagious too." Ranma finished
after noticing that.

"If you think I liked it.  At least this year he wasn't able to convince
 anyone that beating me up would win them a date with me.  It was good
 workout thought."

"What do we do with that moron?" asked Ranma.  She really didn't like
at all that he tried to beat up her friend.

"The usual I guest." said Akane and prepare to punch him to LEO.

"Wait!  I have an idea!" Ranma said, stopping Akane.

"Hey you!  The moron!" began Ranma, turning to Kuno.

"What do you want of my person, little girl?" he replied, not liking
to be interrupted in his quest to Akane' heart.

"Your nick name was True Blunder?"

"No it's Blue Thunder of Furikan High!" and thunder echoes in the distance.

"Then take that!  'Lightning Strike'!" Ranma yelled, which amplified the spell
that strike directly Kuno and around him.  She didn't like the 'little girl'
comment at all either.

After two minutes of uninterrupted lightning, Ranma has finally stopped.

When the smoke and all the dust clear, Kuno was still standing.
All his clothes were smoking and his hair on end,
but he was still conscious.

Kuno was thinking:
"Who is that Goddess of lightning?  We were mean to be together!  We
 have so much in common.  It has to be a sigh from the heaven itself!"

"I will have my goddess of lightning, this I swear!" he yelled to the sky,
which has also startled the two girls and the other spectators.

"What was he talking about?" asked Ranma, worried.

"I had to say congratulation!  You seemed to be his new love interest."
Akane said to her, happy to pass the burden but sorry for Ranma.

Ranma fainted in shock.

"I saw my Goddess of Lightning fainted from happiness!" Kuno proclaimed and
tried to take her home.

When he approached her, lightning which has polarized Kuno,
started to curse between him and Ranma.

"Hey stop that!  That hurt." when Ranma saw that Kuno was above her, she panics.

"'Fly'!" she yelled in disgust.  Kuno was last seen flying above the
wilderness out of Tokyo.  Not to worry, he will return.

"Pervert she cried after him!"

"Exactly!" approved Akane and added "Ready to go?"

"Yes!  Let go home."

They ran all the way home, already late for supper.


[Next day.  On the way to school]

Ranma and Akane walked side by side, but without holding hand.

"Ranma, can I ask you something?" asked Akane.

"Sure."

"What will you do about Kuno?" she asked

"I had thought than using fire should work better." explained Ranma.

"Fire?!  Just don't kills him." said Akane.

She has finds than Ranma has an even worse temper than herself.


[Other side of the fence]

"Ranma?!  Where?" asked Ryoga Hibiki, searching around him frantically.

Then he saw the fence and jump on it.
He searched for Ranma, but then he saw his love.

"Forget Ranma.  I found her again.  Happy day!" cried Ryoga happily.

He decided to follow the two girls.


[Still on their way to school]

"Have you heard something?" asked Akane.

"Sorry.  I was planning the best way to get rides of Kuno." explained Ranma.

"Good luck!  I tried for a year and that didn't work at all." said Akane.


[Courtyard]

"She should be more easy to defeat than Akane." said one of the boys.

"Not sure.  She used lightning yesterday." explained another.

"Yeah, but she can't use it on as large a number as us all." said another one.

They were at least forty boys waiting for Ranma to enter the courtyard.
Nearly the entire fans club of Akane.
After a speech from Kuno about his Goddess of Lightning,
he announced that anyone who defeats her can take her on a date.
They fell for it, again.


Somehow, Ryoga lost his way and arrived before the girls.
He passes between the boys and hears part of the speech and that
'hot Red-hair' girl' and other things.
He comes to the right conclusion with the wrong info thought.

It when Kuno did the more stupid thing he's ever done,
he starts to speak:

"To this day me, I, Kuno will triumph on the Goddess of Lightning and
 we will be wed at last!" thunder was heard in the distance.

"Kuno, prepared to die!" yelled Ryoga, dropping from the fence around
the school where he was trying to find Kuno to teach him not to bother
his girlfriend.

He took his umbrella and swings directly at Kuno, which flatten him
pretty well.  All the other boys were eyeing this new boy worriedly.

"Any of you who bother my girlfriend will have to go through me.
 Is that clear?!" asked Ryoga to the mob of boys.

All the boys dispersed very fast after that.
They were stupid but not to the point to commit suicide.


[Near the courtyard]

"Ready?" asked Akane.

"Yes.  I have already a fire spell with the name of Kuno on it." said Ranma.

When they entered the courtyard, they only saw Ryoga here at first.
After a few seconds they saw that Kuno was flat on the ground.

"Who is he?" asked Akane, seeing Ryoga, umbrella in a ready stance,
which he replaced fast on his backpack when he saw them.

"I don't know.  He seemed to have taken care of Kuno thought.
 We will see when school is over." replied Ranma.

They proceeded to pass Ryoga and enter the school.


[Lunch time.  A table with a view of the courtyard]

"So, that guy who scared all the boys this morning didn't move at
 all from the courtyard?" asked a girl to her friends.

"Not at all.  He's a hunk too.  Did you see how easily he beat Kuno?!"

"Yes.  Dreamy!" said another girl.

"Hey!  I saw him first." the first girl protested.

"No!  He's mine!" said yet another.


[Outside in the courtyard]

"I wanted to thank you for scaring all the boys this morning." began Ranma,
after approaching Ryoga from behind.

"Oh, it's nothing.  I didn't like that at all than they wanted to beat
 a cute girl like you." Ryoga explained, blushing deep red.

"Huh.  Thank I think." she replied, very embarrassed with a hand behind her head.

After a minute of silence:

"Not that I wouldn't be able to beat them all, but I don't know how many
would see the end of the day alive in that case." finally explained Ranma.

"I was curious to know why they were after you?" asked Ryoga.

"That was that jerk fault.  You know, it the guy you flatten this morning.
 He seems to fell in loved with any girl who is able to beat him.  He's the
 biggest pervert I had ever seen too." she explained.

"Yes!  He was after me since last year too." added Akane.

She has just come behind Ranma, and hears what they were talking about.

"Hi!" can only say Ryoga when seeing another cute girl.

"Hi!  My name is Akane by the way." Akane replied to a blushing Ryoga.
She raised an eyebrow at that.

"Mine is Ryoga Hibiki." he replied politely to the two girls, and added:
"I was searching for Ranma Saotomes since he wasn't at the appointed
 place to our fight.  Because of him, I had seen hell!" he ranted

"Have you seen him?" he asked, blushing again.

"No.  Not at all.  What she looks like?" asked a very nervous Ranma,
praying for Akane to understand what she imply.

"Don't think so.  Excuse us one moment.  I have to speak to my friend here."
said Akane, then grappled Ranma by the hand and took her under a tree.

"Ok, what the deal?" Akane asked.

"I can't give him my name.  He will try to kill me.  Not that I can't defend myself,
 but he was a friend before." Ranma tried to explain.

"Fine.  What we will call you then?  Ranko maybe?" asked Akane.

Ranma doesn't like the name 'Wild Child'.
It's too near the true in her case since Jusenkyo.

"Lina maybe?!" proposed Ranma impulsively.
She didn't know where it came from thought.

"That will have to do.  I wanted to invite him to supper too." Akane said,
grappling Ranma' hand again and took her where Ryoga was waiting.

"Excuse the interruption." Akane said to him.

"I have to go.  Bye Akane!  Bye Ryoga!" after saying that,
Ranma went away very fast.

After they saw Ranma leaving in such a hurry,
they look at each others and Akane explains:
"Her name is Lina.  She's very shy around stranger too."

"I know.  I didn't approach her since last year because of it." he said blushing
a lot more than before.

"You liked her?!" she asked, not very surprised because of all the blushing.

"Yes.  But taking my revenge on Ranma was more important.  But I didn't saw
 him for the last year and I kept finding her for some reasons." he explained.

After hearing all that, Akane offer:
"Do you want to come for supper?  It's very good."

"I don't want to intrude." he tried to protest.

"Lina will be there." she added.

"Ok, lead the way." he accepted when he learned of Lina attendance.


[Tendo' house.  Diner room]

" . . . I want all of you to call me Lina when Ryoga was around.
 Is that ok with everyone?" Ranma asked.

"Yes it will do." replied Nabiki.  She already found at least four new ways
to profited from this.

"Yes.  Lina's a more proper name for a girl too." said Kasumi happily.

When Ranma heard that, she can't believe it.

"Wahhhhhh!  My son-in-law was really a girl!" Soun was wailing.

Akane was very frustrated.  She has lost Ryoga on the way here.

Akane entered the room and said to everyone after sitting down:
"I lose him.  I don't understand it at all.  He was right there following me."

"It's Ryoga for you.  Always lost." said Ranma smugly.

"You should have warned me!  Baka!" said Akane, frustrated even more to
learned this.

"Sorry!  It was more than a year since I last saw him." she explained.

"Oh!  So, do you like your new boyfriend?" asked Akane innocently, or try to.

"He's not my boyfriend.  He's just a friend." Ranma protested again.

"And you, not a word!" she warned her father before he could even
open his mouth, which was exactly what he was about to do.

[Notes]

For anyone who wanted to known why Ranma appeared in chapter one
to look just like Lina, it was caused by what a spirit look like
when in spiritual form, which is as what they identified themselves
when alive.  It's a spirit's pool after all.

All the storylines had been moved one year in the future.
The time was spent in the Amazon's village for most of that year.


[About the pet-gem]

It was following Ranma because she was it power sources else it became
as imprison and immobile as they come, and it was hopping also that she
will free it from the gem.

Why do you thing it was floating?!

 When she tried to cast the spell of binding,
 Ranma mixed in her head floating gem and gem to fly.
 She was news at it so she commits a slight mistake.
 It was not nice to imprison it either.
