Hello Fanfic Writers!

Yes, I do like to write these things because i like toying with emotions.
 It's interesting to see what people do.  

This song is not mine, if it was then I'd be a millionaire and not a
starving fanfic/songfic writer.  It belongs to Celine Dion and Barbra
Streisand who sang it, but I'll be replacing them with someone else.  And
no, I don't own Slayers, again I'd be very rich which I'm not.  All this
tells you it's not worth it to sue me!  

Below are some explanations that will probably only confuse you even
more!  (If you can understand them and I'll commend you.)

( ) shows background words or someone singing next to the original singer
[ ] description of scene

Singers replaced by Lina Inverse and Allison Yoneyama (aka MurasakiKaze)

[Camera pans over Lina sitting alone on a stone bench in a rose garden as
the music starts.  The wind swirls by and kicks up and small flurry of
rose petals.  She looks up as I enter and I smile at her encouragingly.]

I'm scared
So afraid to show I care

[I realize why she's here and the smile disappears from my face.  I sit
down next to her and drop my eyes.  The light of the day seems to be
wanning even though it's still early.]

Will he think me weak
If I tremble when I speak

[I look up, but Lina's not looking at me.  She's watching the roses bloom
all around her and then stares up at the blue sky.]

Oooh- what if 
There's another one he's thinking of
Maybe he's in love

[Flashback to when Sylpheel was around and Gourry was protecting her more
than ever.  Lina looks down again, sighs sadly, and continues singing.]

I'd feel like a fool
Life can be so cruel
I don't know what to do

[She looks at me as if trying to figure out what to do and as if I'd be
able to tell her.  I turn away and look up at the sky as the wind blows
my black hair back across my shoulders.  I'm resting with my hands
supporting my weight as I lean back.  The sun slides behind a cloud and I
start singing too.]

I've been there
With my heart out in my hand

[Flashback to a shadowy scene.  A man is standing there, but you can't
see his face.  I place my hand comfortingly over Lina's and look into her
eyes to catch her attention.]

But what you must understand
You can't let the chance 
To love him pass you by

[Lina looks uncertain.]

Should I

together<

Tell him
Tell him that the sun and moon
Rise in his eyes

[I help her stand.] 

Reach out to him
And whisper
Tender words so soft and sweet

[The wind whips by again and blows her cape out from her.  She imagines
Gourry there with her and smiles slightly.]

I'll hold him close to feel his heart beat

[I smile as she smiles and sing.]

Love will be the gift you give yourself

[I let go of her hand and walk over to the rose bushes, gently handling
one of the delicate blossoms.]

Touch him (oooh)
With the gentleness you feel inside (I feel it)

[I turn back to her my own eyes flashing with memories.  I look away
sadly and let my hand curl around the stem of a budding red rose.]

Your love can't be denied
The truth will set you free

[I pick the flower and hand it to her with hope shining in my eyes.  She
takes the rose and gratefulness is in her eyes.]

You'll have what's meant to be
All in time you'll see

[Lina catches the flower's fragrance and closes her eyes.  I can see that
she's trying to make up her mind.  She's still afraid though and I place
a hand on her shoulder as her eyes open again.]

Oooh
I love him (Then show him)
Of that much I can be sure (Hold him close to you)

[She opens her eyes as the sun emerges from behind the cloud it's been
hiding behind.]

I don't think I could endure
If I let him walk away
When I have so much to say

[I smile at  her and turn away.]

I'll

[I turn back abruptly as Lina steps forward as the music comes to a
height.]

Tell him
Tell him that the sun and moon

[The backdrop changes to the crescent moon and sun intertwining.  They
break apart and fly back down into the black depths of space.]

Rise in his eyes
Reach out to him

[I hold out my hand and Lina smiles, decision flashes in her red eyes.  I
smile and she takes my hand as the backdrop changes to a forest road with
a small stream passing by.]

And whisper

[I let go of her hand and step back.]

Tender words so soft and sweet

[She turns away and looks down the road.  You can see Gourry walking up,
but he doesn't see her yet.  Lina looks uncertain again, but stands firm
remembering what she will say to him.]

Hold him close to feel his heart beat

[She turns back to me and gives an all confident smile.  I just watch her
start to turn away and keep singing.]

Love will be the gift you give yourself

[As she's ready to go, Lina turns back, once again uncertain.  I walk up
to her and turn her around, showing her that Gourry has seen her now and
is walking a bit faster towards us.]

Love is the light that surely glows 
In the hearts of those who know
It's a steady flame that grows 

[I push her forward and step back.  Lina turns to see Gourry almost up to
her.]

Feed the fire with all the passion you can show 

Lina<

Tonight love will assume its place

This memory time cannot erase

together<

Your faith will lead love where it has to go

[She walks up to him and I turn away, knowing that she's telling him how
much she loves him.  Flashbacks to when we were singing earlier go by and
resume on me walking away as Lina reaches up and kisses Gourry who is
very stunned, but doesn't pull away.]

Tell him
Tell him that the sun and moon 

[The backdrop resumes to the rose garden and I sit down alone this time. 
I remember the other times I've been here thinking about the same thing
Lina was.]

Rise in his eyes
Reach out to him

[Shot to Lina and Gourry embracing as the  orange sun sets behind them.]

And whisper
Whisper words so soft and sweet

[I watch the sky turn violet and see them walk off together.  I'm happy
that she's happy, but wonder if there will ever be happiness in my life.]

Hold him close to feel his heart beat

[Flashback to the picture of the man I have in mind.  The shadows seem to
lift and reveal Zelgadis Graywords standing there.  Now it's back to the
present, but he's still there.]

Love will be the gift you give yourself

[I stand up looking shocked and blushing madly.  He face doesn't change
any, but he steps forward and leans against the sole tree in the garden.]

(oooh ooooh ooooh)

[He looks at me out of the corner of his eye and I walk up slowly as the
music starts to fade.  I reach up and hug him tenderly as the final
strains of music play.]]

Never let him go

[The screen cuts in two and shows Gourry and Lina together on one side
and me and Zelgadis in the other.  The scene resumes one scene.  I look
up and see Zelgadis smiling before laying my head back down on his chest.
 The screen fades to black and a single budding red rose is left in a
spotlight before all fades to darkness and ends.]
