Hehehee... I appreciate the fact that you're still -trying- to find a way to
fit her in there, but as you read my story further and further along you'll
see just how hard it is to add Ukyo into the story and to have the rest of
things make sense. You've only seen a small taste of the whole story so far.
I'll at least try to give them a mention somewhere, and perhaps a cameo
appearance if I can, but no (for now) I don't have plans to kill them off.
Don't tempt me though... there's this one scene coming up where......
ehhhh... you'll see.

Frankly, I don't see how you could leave Ukyou _out_ of the story. Ranma
vanishes one day, she's certainly going to look for him, don't you think?
So would Shampoo, for that matter. Kodachi might, as well. And Kunou's
going to go on a crusade after he learns that Akane and his osage-no-onna
have both disappeared. If you're dead-set on discluding one or all of
them
from the story, one solution would be to simply kill them off.

If I were to throw in every Ranma 1/2 character in there then I wouldn't be
able to call this a Matrix crossover anymore. I'd call this a Ranma 1/2
fanfic with Matrix cameos. I'm trying to keep a balance here.

Personally, I don't think that's necessary unless it's just your personal
preference. I can think of lots of ways to integrate Ukyou in the story,
for example, what Ken said, or you could have her get kidnapped by the
Agents to lure Ranma to them. Or she could be tricked into cooperating
with the agents, as Ryouga was. Or, if you want to hike down a weirder
trail, I dreamed this up:

Now let's see... the agents idea has promise...! But... I'm putting my foot
down, I'm NOT putting her in yet. She's sitting this one out, amen. I may
make a story or a side story afterward (and -then- I might use her with that
agent idea), but this round, no no no no no no no. Oh, did I neglect to
mention no? Sorry 'bout that, the answer's no. Just say no. Thanks, but no.
No <cha cha cha> no <cha cha cha> no <tra la la> no <tra la la>.

Okay, Ranma's not Ranma, he's female Ranma. So male Ranma doesn't
actually
exist, right? But here's my idea: what if he _does_, only male Ranma's
body is actually inhabited by _Ukyou_ in the real world instead of Ranma?
Remember the irony when Ukyou arrived, and Ranma (half-girl) had a fiance
who had been dressing like a boy for 10 years? What if that irony was
sort
of predestined, because the curse and the crossdressing were a way of
fixing a problem that the computer created when it assigned them to the
wrong sexes?

Yes, again, another nice idea, but that would blow a -huge- hole in the plot
for my story. That simply will not fit the story idea I'm running. Let me
emphasize this fact that I'm writing by: The matrix always uses a residual
self image that is essentially a digital picture of your normal self. The
machines won't modify that RSI unless they have sufficient -reason- to do
so.

What that means is: No, the matrix doesn't portray people in opposite
genders just for the hell of it. In fact, I will further go on to say that
Ranma is the -only- person in the matrix to which that happens.

I dunno, I just think it's a really cool idea and it could fit in pretty
nicely with what you've created. I can think of a _lot_ of really cool
emotional scenes that you could write about that scenario.

It's precisely those scenes I want to stay away from (for now). I know it
sounds silly, but there are reasons.

Now... after my next release of my story (which will be in about a week)
you're still welcome to try and find more ideas on how to fit Ukyo in. If I
hear an idea that fits all the pieces and works well, I just might go with
it, but so far I just don't see it happening. Whatever ideas you suggest,
please give ideas that don't involve freeing anyone -else- from the matrix.

-Troy (Gettin' down to some good C&C here!)
