Ranma isn't *really* a jerk - he just has trouble with expressing
himself. I have nodoubt that, while growing up, Genma would wallop young
Ranma if he wasn't tough and manly enough, so Ranma wouldn't express his
feelings properly growing up.
What I'm wondering (and I think our protagonists should be very
concerned with this at the moment) is who sent the dress? Circumstantial
evidence points to Kodachi, but it seems unlike her not to make an
appearance. Shampoo and Ukyo also have motives, but they're not
generally this subtle either.
*Shampoo* isn't this subtle, but *Cologne* is! I wouldn't put it past
her to put a mild frame on Shampoo, then a serious frame on Kodachi or
Ukyo. Shampoo would be blamed at first, then evidence - strong evidence
- would indicate Ukyo (yes, Ukyo - bear with me). Ukyo and Akane would
be removed from consideration, and Shampoo would seem more virtuous,
plus Ranma would feel guilty about accusing her before. Making Shampoo a
shoe-in for "Mrs Saotome".
Gawd, I gotta devious mind. ^_^
All in all, an interesting and nicely written story. I look forward to
seeing more of it.
