Since when is ninjutsu all about being a murderous bastard? And am I
wrong in
saying that you're assuming the Ninja didn't practice any techniques of
"ki"
manipulation? I'm beginning to wonder if anybody on this list knows
anything
about the Japanese martial arts at all...
Sorry, did I imply that? It never was my intent. While I admit not knowing
exactly a great deal about ninjutsu in specific, I do know of it's
versatility
of techniques. And presumably all martial arts practice ki, even if it's
not
very much acknowledged in all of them.
and notice the bit "In Ranmaverse". Only ninjas shown in the manga are
Sasuke
and Konatsu, and maybe Happosai, who seemed to have been dressed into a
ninja
garb in the flashback bits.
In real life, people don't (at least to my knowledge) throw around
ki-bolts
with
the power of a oncoming van. Compared to such things, ki techniques
practiced
by real ninjas seem at best.. tame.
Some of the "ki" tricks that Ninja were "alleged" to be able to pull off...
don't sound too tame to me. (Walking though walls?)
Since the author is writing in the Ranmaverse, I would expect the "master"
Ninja's to be able to pull off some serious tricks... such as walking though
walls, blending totally into shadows, quite possibly ki strikes, etc...
It's FICTION, so suspend your disbelif and enjoy.
