While you are still guessing who Duo's parents are,
this chapter is about how the others react to Duo's sudden death.
This is an AU so the chacters act differently.

Chapter 5: Losing a Friend
Heero stared at the ceiling of their room. About five
hours ago, the four remaining pilots returned to the base. He
thought back about the other's reaction at the news of Duo's
death.
---------------------
All four boys sat in the living room. Heero had came
home with news of Duo's death. Heero had gone back to the battle
grounds looking for Duo's body for burial, but it was not found.
When he had just given the news there was silence. Who would
have guessed that Duo, the Shinigami, would be the first of the
group to meet the real Death.
Wufei was devestated about the loss of a good friend.
Out of the group, Duo was probably his closest friend. Trowa was
as quiet as ever. He sat there letting his sorrow show for his
dead friend, while Quatre was crying non-stop in his arms. Heero
was impassive as usual, leaning his back on the wall, watching
the rest of them.
"Don't cry, Quatre," soothed Trowa, running his hand up and
down Quatre's back. "Duo wouldn't be happy if he saw you like
this."
"Hai." Quatre sniffled.
"I suggest we all get some rest." Wufei said, getting up.
They all went to their rooms.
--------------------
Heero continued to stare at the ceiling, still unable to
sleep. He could still remember what he had felt when Duo pushed
him away and got blasted instead. He had felt anger. He killed
all of those lousy Oz. After he went back to the site to look
for Duo's body for burial. It was gone. He had looked all over
for it. There was nothing he could do, so he went back to the
safehouse to tell the others of the news.
He was gone. Duo was gone. It felt so unreal. There was no
body left for burial, only his posessions. Heero felt as if
something inside of him withered and died. He had thought all
feelings inside of him were long gone. Obviously he was wrong.
What had hurt him more was that he had never told Duo his
feelings for him. Heero was always aware of Duo's feelings
towards him, but he chose to ignore it because he did not know how
to respond to it. Now it's too late. Duo's gone from him forever.
There would not be a loudmouth kicking the door of their
room open anymore. Never again would there be a curious boy with
a long braid attempting to look over his shoulder at his laptop.
No more pranks from the trickster of the group, for the trickster
was gone. There would be no one there to annoy him anymore. There
would never be a huge blast of trash, called music, by Duo.
The room was quiet, unnaturally so. Like his empty life.
For the first time since childhood, Heero cried himself to
sleep.

Next chapter: Duo's parents finally make an appearance.
Those who had guessed chapter 4's question, good guess. To see if you
guessed right, wait for the next chapter. My pre-reader is still checking
it, so it might be a while.
