Yes, really. I actually have finished something. Now I get to go try and
plug at some more of Turn the Page. Wheeeeeeee......*thud*
Anyway, if you don't remember the series (heh, don't blame you) you can

Oh! My Brother!
Chapter 10 - Urd II
All Oh! My Goddess (Ah! My Goddess, Aa! Megami-sama, whatever)
characters owned by Kosuke Fujishima.
***
Do you know what it's like to lose someone who defines you? Someone whose
very existence helps you figure out your place in the world? A person who
is an important part of you, a part so personal you couldn't have imagined
being without it?
Chris was more than my protector, more than my brother, more than my friend.
I looked down on his body, that shell of flesh and bone which merely laid
there, breathing slowly as if in mockery of the fact that the essence, the
soul which it supported was gone.
I wanted to cry, to rage, to rail against the unfairness of it. I LIKED
having a brother. Don't get me wrong, I love Belldandy and Skuld a lot
(more than a lot), even if they can infuriate and annoy me at times. But
Chris was different. It was fun messing around in his love life. It was
fun having him pull the over-protective-brother routine on the guys I dated.
It was fun just having him around to talk to, to joke with, to annoy...to
care about. I loved the jerk, okay?
Excuse me, be right back. I have to go hug someone.
Feh, 'Niichan brings out the mushy side in me sometimes.
Anyway, I wanted to break down, but I couldn't. Why? Because Thor, all six
feet and two inches of him, was going into a full-fledged fury at that
moment.
"They dare," he growled. "They DARE to harm a guest under my protection,
here in Bilskirnir, in my very home." With a roar, he punched his hand
towards the sky, and a lightning bolt struck his hand with a deafening
thunder and a blinding flash. When I could see again, he was slowly
whirling Mjollnir and in his full battle gear. "Saturn and his allies will
pay for this!"
I swore mentally. (Hey, I'm not supposed to say them, but I can THINK
them.) I had forgotten how quick Thor can be at times. The big lug must
have known about the little scheme the Time Gods had thought up, and tried
to sabotage it. Sweet, isn't he? The problem was, Thor tends to get a
little single-minded when he's mad. Nothing short of a good shock would get
him to stop and listen.
That in mind, I guess I can be forgiven for tossing a force-bolt at him.
A really big one.
One that knocked him through a wall.
Okay, maybe a bit TOO big, but he's a big tough boy, he can take it.
I DID apologise.
No, really.
Fine, I didn't for a week or two, but he understood.
What? Don't you believe me?
Hmmph. Stupid mortals.
Thor pulled himself to his feet and came back through the hole in the wall
and stormed up to me. "This is a matter of honour. Do not try to stop me,
Little Urd."
Ooh, I HATE it when he calls me that. You don't see 'Niichan flaunting his
height like that, do you?
"Listen to me, you muscle-bound dolt," I snarled. Hey, someone had to take
charge. "You are NOT going to start a war just over your wounded pride.
You ARE going to find me a Healing-aspect god and have him look at my
brother. You ARE going to take care of my brother while I try to figure out
what is going on. You ARE going to get someone to bring Saturn here so I
can talk to him. You are NOT going to do anything else."
"But-but-but-but-" he sputtered, sounding like a two-stroke motor.
Two-stroke motor? Yuck, where did that come from? Keiichi and the kid must
be contagious, they're affecting the way I think.
"No 'buts'," I barked. "By the time I get back, you'd better have done all
those things or I'll tell Sif about your little weekends in Kali Khat!"
He gave me an aghast stare. "You wouldn't."
I smiled and looked at him with wide, innocent eyes. "Try me."
Boy, did he disappear fast. Almost worth the trouble I got in with
Kami-sama over that little piece of blackmail.
Oh well, we can't all be saints.
I looked back down at my brother's body and wanted to cry again. It was
then that I realized that I couldn't handle this. Not alone. I needed
Belldandy.
I just hoped I could keep it from the kid.
***
It was nice of Bell to leave the TV on. Saved me getting a ride with
someone else.
The living room was empty, I guess it was time for me to play detective.
Check Bell's room: nothing. Check Keiichi's room: nothing.
Oh, for heaven's sake! Did I have to draw those two a diagram before they'd
get it on?
With a sigh, I completed the check. Skuld was in her room, asleep. I
stopped and checked the time, then reeled in shock. 7 AM?!? What kind of
unholy hour did Thor get up at? With a grumble, I continued my search.
Anyway, I found Keiichi in the front messing with some motor or another,
and...
There was some sickeningly sweet song coming from the kitchen.
I headed over to the kitchen and peeked in. Yup, there was Bell, singing
that saccharine song as she puttered around in there, making a 12-course
meal or something. Honestly, how she can get that much pleasure out of
something that's that close to work, I'll never know.
At least she could get her pleasure out of something that at involved a
minimum of two people. And maybe a mattress. And...
Hmm. Maybe I better not go there, I promised 'Niichan I'd try to keep this
clean.
I walked into the kitchen and Bell smiled at me. She seemed kind of
off-kilter, but I just figured it was because she had one of her 'hunches'
that something was wrong with Chris. "Good morning, Urd," she said
pleasantly, trying to ignore the strain she obviously felt. "How are things
going with Oniichan?"
I stopped and didn't answer for a moment, confused by her question. Didn't
she know that there was something wrong? For that matter, why didn't _I_
feel like there was something wrong with 'Niichan?
Explanation time. We DO know when 'Niichan is hurt. It makes sense, if you
think about it. He's supposed to be our defense against the "bad awful
nasty people" who want to harm our precious skins. It's in our best
interests to know his general condition at all times, since it gives us a
bit of a warning if he gets creamed by whatever he's trying to stop.
Sounds callous, I know, but that's the only rationale for the three of us
feeling a muted form of whatever Chris feels that _I_ could come up with.
"Bell," I asked, "is something wrong? You don't look so good."
She looked startled that I had noticed, and then said, "I thought I felt a
disturbance this morning, right about when Keiichi-san woke up from a
nightmare." She bit her lip and added, "He won't talk about it, either."
"Good, nothing really important," I summarized. "Come on, I need you to
come with me back to Heaven - something's happened to 'Niichan and I need
your help."
"What happened?" Bell demanded.
"I don't know," I admitted impatiently, "that's why I need you. He went to
sleep after a drinking binge with Thor, and now won't wake up. AND," I
raised my voice to override her reply, "when I tried to make a telepathic
connection, it was like his soul wasn't there."
"Oh no," she gasped, shaking her head. "Poor Chris." She untied the apron
she was wearing and hung it on a nearby hook. "I'll get Keiichi-san and
we'll go right away."
As much as I needed Bell, I had to put a stop to things here. "You can't
bring him, Bell, and you know it. Not without special permission."
She stopped as if struck, and a panicked look flashed across her face before
she set her jaw with a grim air. "Then I can't come with you, Urd."
"Are you nuts?!" I yelled. (Some may call it a screech, but I'm the one
writing, so there.)
"I can't leave Keiichi-san," she said stubbornly. "Not if I'm right about
that disturbance."
This was insane, and I said so. "You're going to let 'Niichan rot up there
because you THOUGHT you felt something and loverboy out there had a bad
dream? While you stay here, 'Niichan lies up there dead!"
"NO!"
I whirled to see Skuld standing at the entrance to the kitchen, pale with
shock and eyes brimming with tears. "He can't be dead!" she insisted in an
anguished voice. "He can't be. You're lying!"
Belldandy stepped forward, hand outstretched, "Skuld-"
"NO!" Skuld yelled as she shrank back. "I won't listen!" She whirled and
ran towards the bath. "I won't!"
"Oh, shit."
I should have been forgiven for that one, considering the circumstances.
***
By the time I managed to follow the kid to Heaven, she was so far ahead of
me I lost her. I made the best time I could to Bilskirnir, and breezed past
the Valkyries Thor had posted as guards.
It was the moment I saw the inside of the hall that my headache began.
I can deal with Thor being friends with 'Niichan. I can understand that Thor
felt bad about what happened to my brother. I can sympathize with Thor
wanting 'Niichan to be taken care of.
But the marble bier was a BIT much, in my opinion.
The twit had set up this huge marble slab, set so that you had to walk up
three steps to reach the side of it. The base was surrounded by a rose
vine, and there was a new skylight in the ceiling bathing the "body" with
light.
A more corny thing I had never seen.
Standing at the bottom of the steps was Thor, Apollo, Indra, and Tyr, deep
in discussion. Over to the side, I saw Saturn slouched in a chair, a set of
print-outs on his lap.
The moment I saw that jerk I snarled and stalked towards him, but Tyr must
have seen me coming, because he was standing in my way before I even got
halfway to Saturn. "Urd, stop. Saturn has placed himself under my
protection. I can not allow you to harm him."
"WHY?" I shrieked at him. "After what he did to 'Niichan you should be
helping me! Aren't you his friend?"
Tyr took my verbal onslaught without a twitch, and calmly replied, "Yes, I
am. And that is why must do this. Saturn and the other time deities are
not to blame in this, they have been used as pawns by another."
"What are you talking about?" I demanded.
"Your brother didn't cause the crash," Saturn said, shamefaced. He had
walked up and handed me the print-outs. I looked at them, and noticed that
they were hardcopies of the process and user logs of Yggdrasil. Certain
entries had been highlighted. "Nothing he did caused it. Someone spent a
great deal of trouble to make us all think he had." With that, he pointed
out a specific entry. "Someone has falsified the logs and caused the crash
mere moments after your brother's 'overuse' of his power."
I didn't trust that old rebrobate, but then as I looked through the logs I
could only confirm what he said. Someone went and messed around with all
the logs and even set up the crash all to blame my brother.
Used some of MY programs and backdoors to do it, too, the little sneak.
"Who?" I asked helplessly. "Why would they do such a thing?"
Saturn and Tyr got a vaguely panicked look on their faces. "I don't think
what happened to Chris was really in the plan," Tyr said evasively.
"No, not what she wanted at all!" Saturn agreed quickly.
"She?" I repeated, and Tyr shot Saturn a venomous glare. "All right, you
two," I ordered. "Spill it. Who is 'she'?"
"Peorth," Tyr sighed.
I gaped at him in shock, and my mouth worked for a moment before I managed
to speak. "WHY?"
Tyr looked expectantly at Saturn, who blushed so red you could see his chin
through his beard. He began to stammer, "Well...uh...you see...she wanted
to meet him because...uh...that is, she decided...er..."
"Get. To. The. Point," I grated.
"She...uh," Saturn swallowed and took a deep breath before speaking again.
"She thinks Para-er...Chris is her fiance."
Well.
THAT shut me up.
I looked at Tyr for confirmation, and he nodded grimly. I walked past them
to a chair and sat down heavily.
I sat there for a moment and considered Saturn's words.
Then I laughed my ass off.
***
I suppose in retrospect I shouldn't have found it that funny. 'Niichan does
come across as a nice, responsible, basically decent guy (not unlike a
certain boyfriend of Bell's) - that is, when he isn't trying to be
charming - and Peorth has been single for as long as I've known her. It's
not THAT inconcievable that she would have decided that he'd make a perfect
match for her, from a purely intellectual viewpoint.
But just the THOUGHT of 'Niichan marrying her was so ludicrous it floored
me.
As I sat there, I tried to reconstruct her thought processes...if they could
be called thoughts:
One: She wanted to meet Chris, to see if she liked him. No, correct that,
she wanted to see if she could "fix" him into something she liked.
Two: With Rachel and Ami running around, 'Niichan doesn't know which way to
turn as it is. He'd have to be taken away from them.
Three: Peorth had to get him away from US. Hmm..make that ME. Bell would
probably frown on it for a moment and then generally stay out of it. Skuld
would probably like it. She'd probably think it's proper. Now ME, I'd
fight tooth and nail against it.
So sue me, I LIKE Ami and Rachel. They're fun to meddle with.
Four: That silly ditz honestly believes that manga drivel she (and Skuld,
and Chris...sheesh) reads, and probably thought she could develop some
teacher-student romance.
Of course, this all assumes the dimwit actually bothered to think and
consider the consequences.
No, that is not the pot calling the kettle black, smartass.
After that short bout of deep thought, I was ready to take the little bint
to task. I stood, stormed over to where Tyr was once again talking to
Apollo, Indra, and Thor. I gave him my best glare and demanded, "Where.
Is. She?"
Tyr actually FLUSHED. I wished I had a camera, because I think I won a
betting pool just then. "I don't really know, Urd. All anyone can get from
Odin regarding her is that she is engaging in some serious penance for her
actions."
I think I cursed then. A lot. In fact, I'm almost positive I did, because
I distinctly remember Thor looking like he was trying to memorize a few of
them.
"Great," I groused. "My brother lies there a breathing corpse, and I can't
even get back at Peorth for DOING this to him."
Apollo decided to put in his two-bits then. "Come," he said, walking
towards my brother's body. He laid his hand on Chris' brow, and made a sort
of nodding motion with his head to indicate I should put my hand on his. "I
will show you the truth."
I should point out again that I REALLY don't like the Greco-Roman twits.
They're stuck-up, rude, arrogant, annoying, generally a nuisance, can't hold
their alcohol worth a lick, sleep with anything that has a pulse, and give
the rest of us a really bad name. Apollo has the curious distinction of
being the only one of them that is even remotely liked by the rest of the
community up here.
And that's just because he's the strong silent type.
So, I did as he asked, and with that, we plunged into 'Niichan's mind.
***
Well not really, but it sounds good, doesn't it? It's hard to dive into
something which is currently taking a vacation. Besides, we didn't really
dive into anything. We were just looking into the place where his soul
should have been.
*Look through my eyes,* Apollo 'said' to me. *See the anchor point?* He
mentally pointed at a place in that soulless void, and I saw it. A faint
but very strong line, anchored into this place with a unsurpassable
strength. I began to follow the line with my mind, trying to see where it
headed. I didn't get very far before my mind was roughly pulled back and
tossed out of Chris'.
Apollo was staring at me with a somewhat disgusted look. "Unwise," he
admonished. "The line crosses the barriers between realities. To follow it
means risking losing youself."
I held up my hand in protest. "Wait a second. You're telling me 'Niichan's
soul is in another REALITY?" I knew there were alternate realites. I've
seen them through vortexes made by bugs. But I didn't think you could
travel to them. I said as much. "How?"
"Unknown," he replied. "I presume this is the work of Zeus, in some way."
"Oniichan is discovering himself," a young voice said.
Apollo and I whirled to see Skuld at the entrance of the room, holding a
leatherbound tome that was almost as large as her. The book was so new it
practically shone. Behind her stood one of the Muses - Clio, I recall her
name was.
"Say, isn't that a Book from the Hall of Legends she's carrying?" Indra said
in the same tone you would use if you were to comment "Say, isn't that a
bottle of nitroglycerine she's shaking?"
It's not that the Books are especially dangerous in a physical sense. It's
more a psychological thing. They don't just contain stories, myths, and
legends, they contain memories. Feelings. Thoughts. Frankly, some of us
don't want to remember things we did pre-reincarnation. We'd like to think
of ourselves as the deities we are now, not the ones we were.
So, Skuld carrying one of the Books in and of itself wasn't bad. Indra's
tone of voice was just displaying the same fear we all were feeling - that
the Book would be one of ours.
"Urd," Skuld said in an oddly subdued tone. "Can we talk to you alone?"
***
"Spill it," I ordered. Skuld, Clio and I were sitting in what look like one
of Thor's 'toy' rooms - wall to wall weaponry, armour and other silly things
like that. "What the hell is going on with 'Niichan?"
The shrimp just held out the Book to me. "Look."
I held up my hands and backed away. "Uh uh. No way. I ain't touching
that. Those things are trouble."
"It's Oniichan's."
That stopped me cold. "WHAT?!" I took a deep breath and continued. "He
CAN'T have a Book, Skuld. What past memories could he have to remember?"
She shoved the Book towards me again. "Just look!"
I took a step back again. "Not until you tell me what's in there."
"If you want to know what's happened to Oniichan, you have to read this,"
she insisted. "It won't make sense otherwise."
Oh, now THAT was a nice clear explanation. She'd been spending to much time
with those twits in the Prophecies, Fortunes, and Destinies Section. Must
be something about people who can (or in her case, will be able to) see the
future, they just have to be good and obscure about things.
To make a long story short (shut up, you) I took the thing and began to read
it. Several minutes later, I closed it with a slam.
"Holy shit."
I stood and began to pace around the room, looking at the book with thinly
veiled disgust. "This is just sick. Why is Kami-sama doing this to him?"
"Because it must be done," Clio said, in a voice that was far too deep for
her. I turned to face her, and noticed some things about her changing.
Like her shoulders, which were gaining breadth, and that scar forming down
across her left eye. The way her hair was sliding into a more masculine
cut. The cunning that shone in the good eye. The dress that morphed into a
robe. The way her chin became sharper. A million other things, changing
slowly as she morphed into Kami-sama. One of His younger forms, but still
Kami-sama.
"There may come a time when a being with a soul that spans a myriad lives in
a myriad dimensions is needed. A man who in all his incarnations may not be
a hero, or particularly righteous, but is always a mostly decent man who
tried to do the right thing. I hope that he will never be needed, but he
might. So, he must touch his other lives, he must know them for what they
are." He stopped, and glared at me sternly. I wilted.
Yes, I wilted. The Creator gives you a hard look and see how stiff an upper
lip YOU keep, smartass.
"Chris will believe these are but dreams," his glare hardened. "You will
NOT enlighten him otherwise."
I was convinced that at that point, I had gone insane. Kami-sama had just
given me free lisence to lie. Fine, about ONE specific thing, but still,
it's a shocker.
"But...but..." I sputtered. I really hated to argue, but as much as I like
having a free reign to edit the truth, I didn't feel right about lying about
this to 'Niichan.
Kami-sama tilted his head as if listening to something. "Chris should be
waking up momentarily. I expect you'll want to be there." Well, I think he
said that. Skuld and I kind of vacated somewhere around 'I expect.'
We burst back into that ludicrous foyer that Thor had set up and started
things rolling. "Thor, put 'Niichan back into his room. The rest of you,
get rid of this crap and get the hell out of here. Chris is waking up and
we can't let him know anything weird happened."
I was rather irritated that no one moved. Instead, they just looked at me
in confusion and began to voice their objections.
"But-"
"Why-"
"What-"
Skuld stamped her foot and yelled. "Kami-sama said so!"
I nodded. "Right. It's His orders. Damn it, MOVE!"
The way they all sprang into action was impressive. Dropping Kami-sama's
name really gets things done around here.
I looked over at Skuld who was about to follow Thor into 'Niichan's guest
room. "You too, kid. Outta here." She folded her ams over her chest and
sunk into a pout, complete with protuding lower lip and glower. "Remember
what He said? 'Niichan's going to find you hovering by his bedside a little
suspicious."
"You're here," she sullenly retorted.
I shrugged. "I can turn invisible. You can't."
The pout deepened. "Buuuut Uuuurrrrd...."
How does Belldandy ever deal with her? "Oh, all right. You can stick
around, just keep out of sight, okay?"
"He'll never know I'm here!" she cheered, and ran off to who knew where.
***
Considering the amount of trouble my brother had caused, I felt kind of
insulted at what happened when he woke up. Maybe he could have awakened
screaming. A little anxiety perhaps. He could have at least fallen out of
the bed.
A couple snorts, a cough, and a yawn however, were a bit of a letdown.
'Niichan sat up, looked around with perplexed expession, and then rubbed his
eyes. "Gah, what a dream. Last time I go drinking with Thor, and this time
I mean it."
Yeah, right. He says that EVERY time.
He rolled out of the bed, put on his clothes and jacket, and then sort of
weaved his way out into the hall. (I'd like to say I looked away while he
got dressed. I didn't, but I'd like to say it anyway.)
I followed him out as he headed for the recieving room I had slept in the
night before, where Thor was sitting at a smallish table carefully trying to
act normal as he drank his usual breakfast - some more beer.
I went to stand beside Skuld where she was hiding behind a column and turned
myself visible. Invisibility is very hard to maintain for a long time, even
for someone like me.
"Shorty," Chris said wearily, "At this time of day, that's just sick. How
can you keep that down?"
Thor finished his tankard in one long swallow and then gave 'Niichan an
uneasy smile. "I haven't had a hangover since I was a lad."
"Riiiight."
"You sleep well?" Thor asked evenly.
Oh how smooth. Way to go, Captain Slick.
Lucky for Thor (especially considering I was giving serious thought to
tossing another force bolt at him and dam-er...darn the consquences)
'Niichan didn't find anything odd about the question.
"Fine," he replied with a shrug, then frowned. "But I had the weirdest
dreams. I can't really remember them, but I had the strangest sensation of
'what the hell?!' when I woke up." He looked at the table anxiously. "Do
you have anything normal for breakfast? Like juice perhaps?"
Thor reached out and poured some golden liquid from a metal pitcher. "Apple
juice," he said, and then handed it to Chris.
'Niichan took a deep swallow of the stuff, choked, and gasped for air.
"WHAT THE HELL kind of apple juice is this?!"
Thor assumed an innocent expression. "Just some apples I got off Bacchus
when I won a drinking contest."
*Nah,* I thought. *He wouldn't. He couldn't.*
"It's GOLDEN Apple juice," Thor blithely continued.
I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. He did.
"Aww come on," Chris complained. "Can I have something that a norm-" He
stopped mid-sentence, and then his eyes widened.
"Skinny?" Thor inquired.
"Belldandy's in danger," 'Niichan whispered. "She's fighting a demon." His
hair seemed to get a bit lighter, and I could of sworn his god-marks started
to glow...
Thor shot to his feet. "Are you certain?" he demanded, and then his eyes
widened. "You are," he said with a bit of surprise, and then nodded. "Go."
'Niichan didn't even nod. He just summoned his armour and disappeared.
Skuld and I ran out from behind the pillar and confronted Thor. "What was
THAT?!"
The twit has the nerve to smile mysteriously and take a long swig of that
juice before replying, "Oh, just some good news, and some better news."
Skuld growled and started loosening her hammer, so Thor gave her a dark
glare. "I wouldn't try it, child. I have the REAL Mjollnir."
"Well tell us what happened!" she yelled.
"Well," he said, and then stood up and headed to the front doors. "The good
news is that Chris is definitely Aesir, since it seems danger to you three
causes his full manifestation." He paused and rubbed his chin, then openned
the doors. "Somewhat like Heimdall and the Rainbow Bridge, I expect." He
held the portal open for the two goddesses, and then followed them out,
sealing the doors behind him. "The better news is some Demon is about to
have a VERY bad day."
"But who would have something against Belldandy?" Skuld wondered aloud.
"Mara." Thor and Skuld looked at me in shock. I shrugged. "Who else would
it be? She knows Belldandy and I, she loves to make us miserable, and she's
more than dumb enough to not do proper research before she tries something."
Thor looked like he swallowed something that didn't agree with him. "I'm
never going to live this down," he muttered. "Saving some Demon is bad
enough, but a third-rate excuse for a demon like Mara is just embarrassing."
"She's First Class now," I mentioned pointedly.
He responded with a disgusted shake of his head. "Makes you wonder what she
did to get there," he sighed. "And she was such a nice kid."
***
What to say about the sight when we reached Earth again?
Perhaps I should talk about Keiichi's new look? Lizard looked rather nice
on him, I must say. Green and scaly kind of suits him. Nice trick by Mara
too.
Or how about Belldandy's reaction? I think she found the whole situation
rather ridiculous. I don't blame her.
Maybe I should wax eloquent upon my brother trying to maim Mara? He had her
on the run, too, I guess he surprised her when he just appeared in full
armour and started trying to detatch portions of her anatomy.
Well, at least THOR was pleased. Kind of. The big twit had a handkerchief
out and was dabbing at his eyes. "It's so NICE seeing a friend come into
his element," he sniffled, "it's a shame to stop him."
Skuld poked him with the butt of her hammer. "Shouldn't you be getting
around to that?"
Thor's sigh was quite the spectacle, very heartfelt and expressive indeed.
"I suppose," he pouted.
I arched an eyebrow at Belldandy. "I guess we're gonna have to trap her
after Thor butts in so we can get the password?"
Belldandy nodded and held up a CD. "This will help," she said. "It's a
Gods CD."
"COOL!" I exclaimed, and tried to snatch it from her, but she pulled it
away. "Where'd you get one of those?"
"Mara used the Demons CD to get summoned here," she began, "and..."
"And it's a matched set!" Skuld chirped. "What a dummy to come here that
way!"
"Oh really?" I retorted mildly. "And hot water is better?"
Thor cleared his throat to forestall the oncomming argument. "Fine. You
handle Mara, I'll handle Chris."
With that, he charged into the fray and bowled into 'Niichan.
***
The rest, as they say, is history. Thor managed to calm 'Niichan down in
"one of the most entertaining fights he's had in decades," we managed to
corner Mara and get the password from her, and Keiichi's back to his normal
(and far less interesting) self.
Now, the only problem we have is keeping the truth about what happened from
'Niichan. I don't like doing this, especially because I have a feeling
Kami-sama is up to something.
I'll just have to make sure I keep a watch out for my poor brother.
Notes:
1) Aesir: Essentially the warrior gods of the Norse Pantheon. Thor, Tyr,
Odin, etc are all Aesir. Frey, Freya, etc are Vanir, and are rather more
domestic in focus. The Norns are technically neither, but I lumped them in
with Vanir because they fit.
2) Kali Khat: Calcutta's original name.
3) Bilskirnir: Thor's Hall. His home. The place he hangs up his hammer.
4) Yes, this IS linking up OMB with God's Toy. Deal.
