Well, Doug Mac's gone over this pretty thoroughly. :) I just want to
say that you should take the time to read Andy Wennersten's "Proper
Punishment". Your fic is starting off very similarly, and reading
Andy's fic should be good for your fic's development and to see how
he handled things. Since you're introducing a new character, I
assume she will be playing some important part (otherwise, why have
a new one?), so that should make for some divergence.
