I'm drawing a blank here.  The critter enveloping someone's head doesn't
sound familiar at all except from Monster Rancher.

If you watched any of the newer episodes, you'll see James Victreebell get
quite a liking of the taste of James upper torso and head =P.

I actually guessed what it was correctly about a third of the way through
... but then I'm a poke-freak...
