Great idea, until you got to this part, this is just pointless.
Something to keep the status quo of Ranmaverse I suppose, not really
nessassery.
A jusenkyo curse might just turn the person into a Chimera, but
switching genders is a little off. I mean Zelgadis was male, so at most
his curse would simply turn someone into a male Chimera. [Although a more
likely curse would simply turn someone into a Chimera. Spring of drowned
girl changes gender, but I've never seen any indication that a spring
would switch genders otherwise. I mean who ever said it was a male duck,
or pig, or even yetti riding bull while carrying eel and crane?
You're right but you have to remember that the pool's template was
made from Lina (who almost drowned) and Zelgadis (who did drown).
Both of them fell in at the same time and Lina was in the pool long
enough for it to acquire the neccesary data. However the pool reacted
violently to the extremely powerful magic that both of them possessed
and this is what caused the pool's matrix to become unstable to begin with
and what was responsible for sealing Lina's magic to begin with.
This is also why a person switches sex when they fall into the pool and
why the curse has to be sealed. Oh I should also mention that if only one
of them would have created the pool's matrix than it would just be like
any other curse. Oh and the person who fell in the pool prior to Ranma
was the one who found out the *rewards* for reverting to normal.
Ranma might actually enjoy a curse like this one, but I can see problems
in his future if he did. Ryoga learning the Bakusai Tenkets comes to
mind, as well as relationship problems caused by -ahem- stone body parts.
[Before you perverts say anything about it not being a bad thing remember
that stone doesn't stretch very well.]
Maybe for a little while he would but once he enters a civilised area
he'd have to keep his body covered at all times lest he attract unwanted
attention. Oh and if one involves groups such as the Sailor Senshi who
could honestly mistake him for a youma/daimon/whatever and other
problems that Ranma attracts like bees to honey. As for relationships
forget it. I honestly see this as being in someways a very serious story.
Besides transforming into a girl is not exactly the worst thing in the
world though Ranma might think it is. I'm interested in seeing how
he'd handle a real curse and being a female chimera is perfect in my
opinion. Oh and the Bakusai Tenketsu is debatable.
Still it's a good one, I'd do it myself, but I'm overloaded as it is and
am being forced to put fics on the back burner for a while. Hope someone
will pick it up and not completely butcher it.
