Actually, we don't know _what_ Kenshin used when he trained under his
master. Presumably, it was shinai and bokuto before he was proficient
enough to use a real sword. As for the sakaba-to, Kenshin did not have,
much less begin using, one until after the Bakumatsu when he began
wondering.
Query: Will Ranma have any Himura/Kamiya ancestry or is his character
simply a melding of Ranma and Kenshin?
