even though they're based on a Japanese series of novels and anime.

NOthing is said in that about where the mangas have to be written, either in
America or Japan. I don't have a copy of the FAQ on hand, but I don't think
it says anything about that.
Lastly, since this was a question aimed at the admins, it should
have been sent to them. You could have used the ffml-admins@fanfic.com addy
for that. The list does not need the arguement this could potentially spark.
