As some of you may be aware, the CB awards contained a
presentation for "Worst New Character" in which the author used the
character of DJ Croft for the purpose of humor. Ben just posted an
open letter protesting this use, and since I was the author of that
piece, I emailed this to him.
Dear Mr. Hutchins:
I just read your open letter in response to the Chickenball
Award segment concerning the Worst New Character. I was the writer of
the piece that offended you, and must conclude that I acted shamefully
toward you. I apologize for the use of your character without citing
his use without your permission.
I sent the piece in to Megane67, who edited the CB and
performed much of the setup for the event, and he did read and include
the piece. While he did think I could have been nicer to your
charcter, he did not see anything tasteless in the piece and accepted
it. He also did not mention to that you didn't want your character in
the CB ceremony; if he had, I assure you I would have rewritten the
presentation.
Again, I was unaware of your disallowal of the use of DJ Croft
in the presentation, and sincerely apologize for it. If you wish to
discuss this further with me, my email address is below.
Sincerely
Steven "The Nightman" Cornett
