Hello!
Here's the first chapter to my story, "Eternal Blue". I
hope you enjoy it!
I'm having some trouble smoothing it out though, would I
be asking for too much if I were to ask for some tough
c&c?
If you would like information to help you c&c, proofread
(proo-fread?), or pre-read this story, please reply
requesting a small glossary. I'll be happy to respond.
The prologue can be found at my website:

Well, let us not tarry for much longer, lest our lives be
ended before I finish empying my lungs of air.
Please enjoy!

Chapter One
Minutes before, Ranma Saotome and Tenchi
Masaki's grandfather, Katsuhito Masaki, had given
them the keys to the shrine tool-shed. They were to
fix a fence after they had returned from school
with tools from the shed.
Instead of going to school though, they chose
to explore the shrine cave instead. Inside the
shed, they found a sledgehammer. From the tool-
shed, they walked to the shrine-cave.
Local legends told of a demon sealed up in
the cave. The boys were on a mission to prove it
right or wrong.
"Hurry up Tenchi! You don't want gramps to
find us now do you? We're supposed to going to
school right now!" Ranma looked over his shoulder,
his pig-tail swinging over his shoulder. He looked
back towards his pony-tailed cousin in annoyance.
"I've almost got it, just give me one more
second." Tenchi had spent the past few minutes
banging on the lock with the sledgehammer. One more
thrust and the lock would give away. He raised his
arm and swung. With a clang, the iron lock split
open and fell off the gate.
The gate swung open and a brisk wind came
from the cave. They turned towards the cave
expecting to see something, but found only silence.
They walked in.
"Humph, barely anything in here!" Tenchi
muttered. The cave was small, it was the size of
his bedroom, which could fit a bed, desk, and
dresser.
Ranma found a sword embedded in a wall, its
tsuba black like the night sky. A closer look at
the tsuba revealed what appeared to be stars.
"Well, don't feel like leaving this dumb cave
without nothing!" He pulled the sword out.
The wall the sword had been in suddenly
crumbled over. Apparently, the sword was keeping it
together. Behind the fallen wall was a very large
cavern. Light, coming from unknown source,
illuminated it.
Water ran through the cavern, creating an
island in the middle of it. On this island was a
mummy. Another sword was sticking out of its chest,
pinning it to a rather large ruin.
Tenchi stepped back a step in surprise. " Is
that the...demon? It doesn't look like a demon
though!"
"It's just a rotten old mummy!" The pig-
tailed boy walked towards the mummy in anger,
almost as if blaming it for not being something
more. "But you never know Tenchi, maybe it was a
demon that looked like a person!"
Tenchi approached the sword-stuck body.
Tenchi grabbed the tsuba and pulled with all his
might. When he finally released the sword from the
rock, Tenchi looked at its deep sky-blue.
"Finally free..." The whisper filled the
cavern. A bony hand rested itself on Tenchi's
shoulder causing him to look up. He came face to
face with a snarling mummy. "Where's Yosho, boy?"
it said in a creaky voice. "Tell me, or else!"
Somehow the voice of the mummy seemed almost
female, but Tenchi didn't have time to take this
nuance into consideration when a blade whizzed
passed his face through the wrists of the mummy.
"Get away from it, Tenchi!" Ranma screamed.
Tenchi back-peddled from the mummy as quickly
as he possibly could. To his surprise, he watched
it, or her, re-grow a pair of hands to replace the
ones it had lost. The new hands looked new though
and contrasted with the decrepit body.
The mummy whirled to face Ranma at a speed
belying its condition. "You'll pay for that one!"
She picked up Ranma and tossed him aside into the
water. A rather large splash erupted from where he
landed.
"Ranma!" Tenchi called out. "Are you okay?"
Ranma's head came bursting above the water's
surface gasping for air, an action answering
Tenchi's question. "You monster! What do you want?"
The mummy grabbed Tenchi by his collar and
lifted him into the air. Her strength was
unbelievable. "Just tell me where Yosho is and I'll
leave you both alone!" Energy began emanating in
her hand.
"Yosho's dead! He died three thousand years
ago!" Tenchi shouted.
"Yosho couldn't have died! He's Jurain! They
live for thousands of years, so there's no way he
could've died!" Her grip on his throat tightened.
"Now, I'm going to ask you again, where is Yosho?"
Again, a sword severed the hands of the mummy
off. Again, the mummy turned to look at Ranma. "You
think you're real funny don't you?" she asked, her
voice annoyed. "Well, get a load of this!"
Instantly, her hands re-grew and a sword made of
light appeared in them.
"Oh yeah!" Ranma challenged. He took a
formidable stance. "Tenchi! Get behind me!" The
feeling of steel-determination flowing from him
caused the demon to take a step back. "Saotome
Secret Technique!" he shouted.
The demon was surprised when both of the
boys, after the one with the pig-tail shouted
something about a fighting technique, turned around
and fled from her. When she realised she had been
tricked, she flew after them in a furious rage.
When she made her way outside of the cave, she
screamed in annoyance, her query had escaped.
When the three were gone from the large
cavern, the ruin began to shake. When the stress
became too much, the ruin split apart.
"I feel like I'm gonna puke!" Tenchi moaned.
His lungs were on fire and he felt as though he
could collapse at any moment. "Do you think she
followed us?" he asked, between gasps for air.
"No, the demon doesn't know her way around. I
bet we're okay here." Ranma replied, his lungs in
pain as well.
They were underneath the protecting branches
of Funaho, a great tree within the Masaki Shrine
grounds. After the boys had run from the demon,
they immediately made their way towards the tree.
It was a place of beauty and strength, both of
which they felt they could use a healthy dose of.
"Damn, she was ugly!" Ranma muttered. The
small, crystal clear pond surrounding the tree had
its peace disturbed when Ranma tossed a pebble into
it. "And she was such a jerk too!"
"Ranma? Tenchi? What are you two doing here?"
The two boys jumped in fear. When they saw who the
speaker was though, they relaxed. He was Cecil
Kuroda, a boy Ranma and Tenchi's age. "School's
about to begin! We'll be late if we don't hurry!"
"Oh...yeah...School!" Ranma replied. "I guess
we can't miss school!" He picked up the sword found
in the cave. "Guess we should go." He quietly
added, "At least school will let me forget about
that stupid demon!"
"Ranma," Cecil said. Ranma, at the mention of
his name, turned around. "you're wet, all over."
Cecil looked at the sword in Ranma's grip. "And
where'd you get the sword?"
"Found it in a cave. Tenchi's got one too."
Ranma replied. "Don't worry about my clothes
though, they'll dry off." Hoisting the sword over
his shoulder, he began to lead the way towards the
shrine. "I just gotta pick something up first
before we go."
"No Ranma, let me get whatever you need!"
Cecil said. Before Ranma could say no, Cecil began
to run towards the shrine. "I know exactly what you
need!" he shouted back to Ranma.
Ranma faced Tenchi and asked, "I wonder why
the heck he acts like a damn servant all the time?"
Ranma shook his head. "All just because my pop
saved him and his little sister!"
The airship, Beowulf, silently and slowly
travelled lowly above the Dieppe Desert. Inside,
Captain Nero, the commander of the vessel glanced
behind him.
A girl and a boy stood there. They were both
young enough to be his own children, but they were
instead officers of the Babel Empire.
"Lieutenant Ramsus, we are near the drop-off
sight." Nero said.
"Good." Without bothering to look at Nero,
Commander Ramsus complimented him, "Captain Nero, I
must say, you are very wily sneaking into Atlantis
territory without raising any alarms! In daylight
as well!"
"I owe my success to the crew and ship. The
crew is highly competent and this ship is very
reliable." Nero looked outside the viewing window.
"Our orders are to leave as soon as you two have
set your feet down onto the ground. Do you have any
last minute changes?"
"Captain Nero, I have no more changes to
make. You can let us off at your discretion."
Again, Ramsus didn't bother to look at him.
"Yes sir." Nero turned around and shouted at
his crew, "Okay, prepare the ship to levitate, low
enough for a lady to step off of!"
When Nero turned around, he found Ramsus and
the girl had already left. "Okay crew, our job is
done. Let's go!"
The girl, whose name was Ranko Saotome,
watched the airship take off and speed away.
"Ranko." Ramsus said, interrupting her
preoccupation. "Let's go. We have a lot of ground
to cover today. Atlantis City isn't going to come
to us!"
"I know that Ramsus, but I still don't know
why you suddenly wanted to come." Ranko turned and
looked at Ramsus. "Last night, you couldn't have
cared less, but just this morning, not even a
minute after you woke up, it seemed this mission
meant everything to you. Why?"
Suddenly he began walking away. "We all have
our reasons Ranko, you and I both. My reasons are
no less selfish than yours!" he said, before
disappearing over a sand dune.
"Hey! Wait for me!" Ranko began to run after
Ramsus.
A girl tapped Ranma on the shoulder. Ranma
turned around. He saw Cecilia, Cecil's younger
sister frowning at him. "We serve you because it's
the least we can do! If it wasn't for your father,
we'd probably be living and starving on the
streets!"
Ranma couldn't think of anything to say. A
moment of silence passed by before he again spoke,
"Uh, I hope I didn't offend you or nothing."
"Ranma, it's okay! You're only a little
confused by our loyalty." Cecilia stood up
straight. "But Ranma, we'll always help you!"
"She's right!" Everyone turned and looked at
Billy van Burace. "Now Cecelia, don't look at me
like that! I also owe a dept to the Saotome
family!"
"Then you had better start paying it soon!
You have a responsibility!" Cecilia scowled at
Billy. "When do you intend to do anything about
your dept?"
"When it's time!" Billy turned around and
walked away. "Right now, I've got things to do and
people to see!"
Cecil returned just as Billy left. In his
hands were two sword sheaths. "Okay, I believe
we're ready! Now let's be off to school!" He looked
at Cecilia. "Sister, please don't allow Billy to
anger you. He has his own reasons for being so..."
"Reckless?" Cecilia interrupted.
Tenchi asked, "Cecil, can Ranma and I have
those sheaths?" Taking a sheath from Cecil, Tenchi
covered his sword and slung the sheathed sword over
his shoulder. "Now let's be off."
"Tenchi, want to go into town after school
today?" Ranma asked. Tenchi, Cecil, Cecilia, and he
were close to the school they all attended.
"What are you going to do?" Tenchi looked at
Ranma. "Oh wait, I remember now. You're going to
get some flowers for your twin sister's memorial
tomorrow aren't you?"
"Yeah, Pop's really excited." said Ranma.
"One of the few time's I've actually ever seen him
excited!" he muttered silently.
"Who was your sister Ranma?" asked Cecilia.
"Don't know. Mom says we lost her before the
last war ended." He rubbed his chin in thought.
"Around the same time Pop saved you and Cecil."
A boy a year older than Ranma and Tenchi
approached them. "Would you two please come with
me!" His name was Tatewaki Kuno.
"What would you like Upperclassman Kuno?"
Tenchi politely asked.
"I request your presence by my side as I
proclaim my love to the virtuous Akane Tendo!"
Strangely, Kuno was dressed in traditional samurai
garb. He wasn't wearing armour though.
"Again?" Ranma asked. "Listen Kuno, I'm tired
of having to drag your unconscious butt to the
school nurse after every time you 'proclaim' your
'love' to Akane Tendo!"
Apparently, Kuno wasn't listening. "We
mustn't tarry! Every moment we stand here is a
moment wasted not watching the beauteous Akane!"
Grabbing both Ranma and Tenchi by their shoulders,
he dragged them away towards the school gate.
A girl stood above a mass of unconscious
boys. She was Akane Tendo beyond the school gate.
Akane was having a bad morning. Her worst
problem stood before her. "Again Upperclassman
Kuno? Don't you ever learn?"
Ranma turned towards Tenchi. "I don't think
he does." he whispered.
Tapping Kuno on the shoulder, Tenchi asked,
"So what do want us to do Kuno? Do we just stand
here and look impressive?"
"I suggest you do so Tenchi. Strike a pose!"
Kuno raised his bokken into the air. "Akane Tendo,
your smile is more radiant than the sun! I wish it
to be mine!"
"You can never have it! I'll never give it to
you!" Akane's fists tightened. "Kyaa!" she shouted,
lunging at Kuno with her left foot.
Kuno let the kick strike his chest. He
smiled. "Your most endearing feature, Akane Tendo,
beauteous creature of the morning, is your
determination!" He grabbed Akane's foot and pushed
it away with great force. The loss in her balance
caused Akane to fall onto the ground. "But today, I
have finally decided your smile must be mine! If
you refuse to date me, then I must show you power!"
Ranma put his hand on Kuno's shoulder. "Cut
it out Kuno. You're gonna go off your nut if you
keep talking like that!" Kuno turned to look at
Ranma. "And what do you mean, 'then I must show you
my power'? You don't mean...You've been holding
back all this time?"
Kuno slapped away Ranma's hand. "Ranma.
Tenchi. I brought you two here for a reason." A
blue glow began to emanate from Kuno's body. "I am
not 'normal' like Akane, but I'm not like you two
either." Kuno smiled. "My ancestor, Enuo was to
meet with God!"
"Enuo?" Tenchi blurted. "But he was a fiend!
How could you be his descendent?"
"Tenchi, who's Enuo?" Ranma asked. Tenchi
glared at his cousin. "Okay, I'm sorry for asking!
I just wanted to know who this Enuo guy was!"
"Grandfather Katsuhito said, 'Enuo was a
fiend. An enemy to the whole world!' He kept on and
on about how Enuo was too dangerous to ever let
free from his prison." Tenchi's expression was
grave. "You should pay a little more attention to
what he has to say!"
Kuno's voice cut through the air interrupting
Tenchi, "Not even when the sun was waking did I
ever feel so alive!" Kuno's expression was gleeful.
"One moment I was but a mere man, the next moment,
I felt an incredible feeling of power rush through
my body! And with the power, the name Enuo rushed
towards my mind." Kuno turned his attention away
from his revelry towards Ranma and Tenchi. "Besides
Akane, his name means everything to me."
"Ranma, we're in big trouble." Fear crossed
Tenchi's face. "I never believed any of the stories
about Enuo before, but now I'm not so sure..."
"So many memories gathered in my soul, love,
war, family, death, destruction, even creation. It
was the story of a man so incredible he could
capture a soul with his bare hands!" The twinkle of
madness caught Kuno's eyes. "And one memory in
particular caught my interest, since it now
indirectly involves me. Two men, one named Yosho,
the other named Kagato, dared to stand up to my
forefather. They bested him in combat. They
conquered his desire to meet God."
The realisation of his ancestor's defeat
awoke something in Kuno. "Ranma and Tenchi," he
spoke slowly, "you both are the children of Yosho's
children. Only you two can be my equals." Kuno
smiled, the madness gone from his eyes. "I am
beginning to lose myself to Enuo's power. My love
for Akane was pure, but now it is all that drives
me. It is turning to obsession..." He took a long
look at Akane, then Kuno turned away walked through
the school gate. "I fear after today, we three
shall no longer be friends. For Tatewaki Kuno
shall cease to be. A new entity dares to take
control of my body, a fearsome one. I fear for my
family." Then he left.
End Chapter One
---------------------------------------------------
Some notes:
There are two swords, don't worry about this
little addition to the story of Tenchi Muyo though,
I have my reasons, which will be revealed as the
story progresses.
Ranma is using weapons. It's not canon, but I
have a reason. Ranma using a sword is important to
the story.
So far, Tenchi is a pretty quiet character.
He only adds a comment or two and never initiates
any action. This will change though. This will
change big time!
Kuno's going off his nut. He mentions his
family as well. There's some mystery, and some
intrigue. Who's Enuo?
There's some background mentioned in this
chapter I think may become a side-story.
