to think, from the general puzzled reaction to this teaser, that I was

Actually, I do have one quibble, it's more of a question of style. I cannot,
for any reason, see anyone naming their kid Knives. Million Knives sounds
more like a nickname then a birth name. I'd make one up that sounds a bit
more plausible as a birth name.
